I hope this does not make me look “low rent” by posting this but desperate times make you take drastic measures.
Found out today that the company I have working for is not going to pay me for my last two months of services. Pretty bad on my part for letting them string me along. So, I am looking for work.
I have 30 years experience in Oil & Gas Production Operations. I am considered by many to be one of the best in my field of work.
If any of you folks know of a company looking for someone with my experience, please drop me a line. For those who do not know it – Fatshotbud at AOL dot com.

Good news is I won’t be out bidding you on Cbid for now – LOL.

Thanks and apologies to any that think this was an improper post.

I don't see anything improper about it. That's what friends are for. These ARE tough times. I respect the fact that you are exploring all options. Sorry I can't be of any help.

Best wishes,
Kendall

Hey Bud, I know the feeling. I got two weeks left here then I'm on the streets.
Moved up here from Houston after a company called Altra Energy technologies folded. Sub company of Williams.

Seriously -

Look into one of the Overseas ventures some companies are starting up now - albeit - you'll end up in Iraq on one of the 6 month contracts - it does pay VERY well ... a buddy of mine (prior military) was just offered $250,000.00 for just 6 months over there - and he would have been involved in the construction of facilities. I'll get more info as soon as I can get in touch with him ... meanwhile - thought I'd throw this out as someone else here may know of something more about this.

Sorry to hear about your job Bud. Houston, the land of boom or bust. Right now there is a lot of busting going around. Good Luck and if you get down to those cigars that you just can't bring yourself to smoke, drop me a line and we'll get togther for a couple.

Hope you find something soon.

Fat, don't hang your head by asking for assistance here. I posted a similar thread last year when I got laid off and this group is special in that regard. It took me about three months, but I landed something very nice. I have some good recruiting contacts in Houston if I can help.

I appreciate all the posts and e-mail from you folks. If nothing else, I feel better knowing that you all are out there and care!

Rich, I will give a call to the group you mentioned. I looked at their site and don’t know if we can help each other but, you never know – Thanks.

Andy, unfortunately I was working in a self-employed “contract” status. Texas employment rules are mainly designed for the direct employed folks. My only recourse is submitting a lien against the oil property. Two sided sword there. May get my money someday but the defending parties are well connected. It could end up giving me a bad reputation and costing me more work down the line. I am weighing this idea though.

Mean, I will see you in July and hopefully all this will be way behind us.

Jimmy, thanks but I have a lot of family responsibilities that would prevent me from doing so right now. Plus dodging bullets hinders my work – LOL.

Ken, if you know some good recruiters in this area that might help too.

To everyone else thanks again!

Fatshotbud, sorry to hear about your situation. As everyone here said, if you get low, just fire over an email with address. PS--I just sent an email "fishing around" and am awaiting a response.

I got plenty of smokes as JJ indicated, thank you very little for your classless comment
Besides, the quality of cigars are effected by their conditions. Conditions like humidity, temperature, type of wood they are stored with.
With Mag's priority being interior decorating, and is obvious lack of cigar knowledge, I couldn't trust his cigars to be up to snuff :)

Oh I'm sure they would show up all dolled up with some African Zulu mask on em, but that's just not for me. thanks anyway.

Classles is when someones mother, that you dont even know is used in an argument. Saying my mother molested me is the lowest thing I've read on these threads, so dont even talk about class.....

And as far as the condition if my smokes? They are in perfect shape.... :>)

How well does Oil & Gas Production pay, if you don't mind me asking? I don't know much about oil, but I sure do produce plenty of gas :)

Seriously though, sorry to hear about your situation. I don't know anyone in that industry so I can't really offer any help. But I wish you the best of luck in your search.
