The smoking happened between international boarders, just keeping up relations. Which by the way your missile will be in the mail by next week, just waiting for a few things to arrive. Be afraid!!!!

In the now closed thread, I suggested that perhaps the dispute could be mediated by a mutually acceptable neutral party ... got a response from JD saying he was "not sure what there is to mediate" ... and in thinking about that, I've decided he might be right ...

What needs to happen is that both guys need to stop ... not stop for the afternoon, not for 24 hours, not until next Tuesday, but stop ... completely.

It it quite possible and even desireable that we be able to speak freely with one another ... doing so does not demand we see eye to eye ... it does not requre we express no differences of opinion ...

It requires that we do so as gentlemen ...

I've said before, but will say again ... IF we were all face to face in a large hall and having discussions going on among clusters of guys in various parts of the room, we would not say some of the things we are somehow willing to say here with the Internet to shield us from looking at the person or people with whom we are speaking and having them look at us ...

Somehow, despite the fact we "know" one another to a limited extent, the anonymity of the Internet allows us to say with imagined impugnity, things we would never say face to face ...

So, whatever your topic of discussion, whatever your viewpoint might be, with whomever you find yourself interacting, and however goofy, animated or spirited your 'conversation' might become, imagine that you are sitting or standing next to that person or that group of people and speaking face to face ... and conduct yourself accordingly ...

Frankly, if a person cannot bring themselves to that minimal level of conduct, I'd rather not associate with them and am forthrightly and candidly asking that they take their act elsewhere ... there are freewheeling, cigar-focused forums that will tolerate this sort of thing well ... go there and stay ...

Steve, that's kinda the "rule" I do use.

Robby has stated that he's a "what you see, is what you get" kinda guy. I believe him. 99.9% of the stuff I write here, is stuff that has been or will be used in conversations with others that know me and at the local shop.

On this particular issue though, they both escalated the issue on this board instead of taking it offline. I extended the same offer to John, and guess what?...No email! Mag and I have had words, and took it offline...settled it...offline. If he says he tried to contact him, I believe him, because he did with me. Do I agree with everything he says...NO!

There are certain malcontents that LIKE to belittle and berate others because they can or find some twisted enjoyment in it. It's sad, but its true.

Steve is right. I've tried to see the err of my ways. I used to be much quicker to fly off the handle. I still do from time to time, but I feel bad about it. I'm trying to do better. What is key here is to recognize what Steve pointed out. There should be a certain decorum. No one is perfect, so there will be the odd slip. However, it should be the exception and not the rule. I know that sounds weird coming from me... I get pi$$ed off at Slim because he's slamed me before, and a couple of others, but I need to grow up and look past that. Others do to. It's a fun place with a lot of great folks. Let's keep it that way.

Seriously though, it's good to see you keeping up the international relations. You seem like one of the good ones. After all this jd/Mag crap, I think we could all use a little good old fashioned brotherhood. Not of the Greek kind, however.

Can't wait for the package. Feels like the night before Christmas, the anticiapation.

This is a cigar forum with some political and real world side discussions in the misc/photo areas.

The focus though is cigars. Any personal attacks should be handled in person, by email or by telephone.
Whether resloved or not, these little fights should not reappear here. I wouldn't mind if Gonz edited out the entire closed post.

Next time anyone here feels a desire to go overboard with another poster...how about exchanging phone numbers with the offending party so you can say your piece like adults.

This is so damn tiring to stumble across these little schoolyard fights.

Mag, I cannot believe for any reason why you would get john's fellow workers involved in something off this Board?? no matter how much you want to get something settled there will always be a time and a place someday to do so!!! this forum is a place where many come to to wind down from a Fugged up day of working and while their checking out the "Deals" they also toss in their feelings on different topics. name calling and such has been pretty rampent on here and I've tossed out my Verbage to others as well "Do you think I'm going to lay down and take it?" but most the time I blow them off and if it kept up I'll give them my Email so they can take it Private and keep the boards Clean... (No One has had the Nutts to Email me how they really feel) And I have emailed a few to Apologize for digging to deep, most the time they would reply back with "No Problem" we all have our days or something like that!!! and those that never reply back I catagorize as ones who can't take it and need to get a life!!!

John, you and I have had differences and you refrenced myself in a few catagory's as you have done Mike. we've talked off the Boards VIA Email and I don't think there is any hard tension between the two of us??

Many times I see people "Including myself" bringing their work/home life frustraitions into comments they post on the forum... Many times I see these folks appologize and go on... and then you got some who don't want any part of the other's np there at all... but don't keep adding Fuel to the Fire like I do with CJ LMAO!!!! poor guy don't hardly even post anymore just lurks because he hates me so much!!! "I Loose sleep over it tooo!!!!" Yea Right!!! I just know one day I'll get the chance to go to my Buddy Coaches and Herf and possibly hook-up and meet him IRL then he can see what a Nice Guy I Really Am!!!
