Today I went down to a local shop in Ybor to pick up a few gars not sold here on cbid and got to met Arturo Fuente Jr. He actually owns and run the local shop that I went to. Well that was the highlight of my month just thought I would share that.

I'll be down there next month. I plan on dropping by that shop. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

It's always interesting to meet the big guys in the industry .. they just don't visit Ohio very often.

I've GOT to get out more. My PA trip was terrific but I won't be far enough down the coast of FL to get to Ybor. I have their flyer, though.

My wife and I were in St. Pete's Beach a few years ago and took a day trip into Ybor. Stopped in a few stores. Colombia, where they have rollers working that you can watch, a nice cigar accross the street from that and another, if I remember served coffee... Is that the area? Are any of these the one owned by Fuente??

That is 7th street area which is the main drag of Ybor. There are a lot of cigar shops there with a lot of history behind them. But the shop where Arturo Jr is at is about 4 blocks south in the old Ybor Fuente factory the Fuente family still owns it but they do not make cigars there anymore. I picked up some Flor de Ybor City gars that Arturo Jr has made just for him to sell out of the shop along with the WHOLE Fuente line. He told me he could get any Fuente that I wanted. If anyone want the website addy email me and i will give it.

Sounds great. I'm going down to visit my mother. She lives in Redington Shores. One of the main reasons (besides my mother) that I go down there is for the smoking. I heard that they have a smoking ban going into effect July 1st. I'll arrive July 3rd. I'd love to meet up and smoke a few. Maybe we could meet over in Ybor City?

Please do not attack! But isn't "Arturo Jr." Carlito? Or does he have a brother who runs a shop in Yebor?

I think it is Carlos Fuente's brother that owns the store in Ybor. His name is Arthur Fuente.

Arturo Fuente Jr. (the oldest of the Fuente brothers) owns and operates the store in Ybor. His younger brother (Carlos Fuente Sr.) actually runs the Fuente business. Arturo Jr. used to run the business but turned it over to Carlos a little while ago and he retired but has a shop in the old Fuente factory in Ybor.
