At the LV Herf, Big Jeff was talking about possibly getting together in NJ for a herf, maybe one Friday night. Here is a link to the site of the place he mentioned called The Side Bar.

http://www.growthrestaurants.com/website/thesidebar/thesidebarindex.htm

Place looks nice. Business casual dress code...

Maybe this can happen in the future. Role call: Lowman, Big Jeff, Qball, Docrks, HarleyDave... Anyone else in the area of NJ ???

Low,

I just called there to get the info. They are business casual which means not sneakers, tshirts, or jeans. They're open till 1:30am

I have the address and phone number for anyone who is interested. I was thinking we could meet on a Friday night after 6:00pm. July 11th, 18th and 25th are good for me. What about the rest of you Joisey herfers?

Seems a little yuppish for me and I don't go to places like that, but if a "herf" is set up I will buy a pair of Dockers, an Isod and definately try to make it.

I am in NorthNJ. If the wife lets me out of an evening feeding (new baby), I can make the trip down.

Keep me in the loop!

Hey Low,
"Brie en Casserole 8.00
Melted Brie with sun-dried tomatoes and roasted garlic served with Carr’s water crackers and red grapes"

Are these guy's really going to let us smoke cigars in there. What will Buffy and Bif say?

BTW I fired up the last gar you gave me. I don't know if it's a legit ISOM, but I do know I got third degree burns when I sucked it down to the last centemeter. Great stick! A really big thanks again.

Hey Qball... It IS a cigar lounge... It's near the courthouse in Morristown... Probably a lot of lawyers there... hence the dress code...

Low

BTW, I told you that "ISOM"?? was a good smoke... legit or not... Does kinda smell and taste like a Habana... maybe just not from the Monte factory...

In the 80's there were shoes (kinda like Capezio's) that had an orange-ish heel and sole. Never had a pair though :o(

OK, Friday July 18th at 6:00 it is! The pictures are deceptive, it is a very large room with a good number of couches, and comfy chairs. There is also a typical full size bar section at the back of the room. They have a limited selection in the humidor but I don't think there will be a shortage of cigars among this group.

Yup. My house in Jersey. It would be a good excuse to stop in and say hi to the family. There wouldn't be any objections if Steve@CBid came to visit?

Gents,

The wife has given me the all clear! (Our 11 week old daughter has been a good sleeper!) So I am in!

I work in Manhattan, so I should be there around 7pm. I expect the beach traffic to be a killer, so 2 hours door to door seems about right.

I will be the guy in the tacky hawaiian shirt! I will throw a blazer in the car, just in case jackets are required! ;-)

Looking forward to meeting you gents! I may not make it in time to buy 1st round, but "A" round is still on me!

Cheers,

PT :-)

Leaving for a few days to attend a Seminar (no, it's not about the dangers of smoking...)
See you on Friday night in Morristown.

The place is pretty big, so I see no need to let them know that a group is coming. They can handle a dozen or so of us. The dress code is pretty straight forward, Business casual. I've gotten away with wearing jeans before, but I'm usually there after work.

Just a note. The Side Bar is in The Famished Frog. From Washington you will see the sign for The Famished Frog, walk in, head towards the back bearing a little to the left, and you should see the entrance for The Side Bar.

Sorry fellows, I will not be able to make it Friday. Still trying to get things ready around the house for the new arrival, which could happen anytime now. Sorry, I hope to see you guys when I get the box pass but it all depends on the timing.
