Celebrating the kickoff of my holiday weekend. It's off to Kentucky tomorrow to visit with my wife's famialy.

I started with an Oliva O Maduro Orion, then "since it's a holiday weekend" I moved on to an Opus X Double Corona. It is over priced, over hyped, but one fine fine cigar.

You know, I guess I'm just a cheap **** but I've never been able to bring myself to pay the price to smoke an Opus X. I've paid upwards of $12.00 for the red dot Cohiba, which IMO is vastly overated for the money, and close to it for the Ashton VSG. However, I just haven't been able to justify in my own mind that an Opus X would be worth the money. Maybe later on I'll take the plunge but right now I really don't want to risk the disappointment of paying that much for a cigar and not being satisfied with it (as was the case with the Cohiba red dot, although I can't complain about the Ashton VSG). I'm probably rambling by now (too much V.S.O.P. brandy) but you get my general drift.

BTW, I was trying to keep one eye on Demi Moore in "Streaptease" while writing the preceding post. She is one distracting lady (particularly considering she had had three children by the time of this movie).

I wasn't impressed with my first opus_x, but I have a couple napping, and plan to try again in a couple of months. Tonight, my last uninterupted evening, before a long weekend at work, I am going to smoke a PAN 1926. Never had one, though I have had several PAMs, this is my first PAN and my first 1926.
