I don't agree with your position Slim!!!

There are distinct advantages to taking the cello (tubes) off.

But there are some disadvantages too.

Well, Maybe I do agree with your position. =)

I let all my sticks party "Naked" as long as I don't mix em...

Regards,

B

Now ... since this has been put to bed, let it sleep ... ;^)

Let 'dead horses' lie ... geeze ... this poor horse has decomposed to the point that it's nothing more than a pile of dust!

Okay here's what I do. I take the cello off and cut it in half I then throw away half of the cello and then put the other half back on the cigar, this way I'm at least half right half of the time. JonR

Hey,

I once got a box and took the cello off 10 gars left it on the others. after 6 mos in the humi the ones in the cello seemed to fair better cosmetically, No cuts or scrapes( I tend to shuffle things around a bit). But they all smoked the same as far as I could tell.

Yes, you should leave the cello on cigars. On the other hand, no, they are more visually appealing "nude." No, they tend to marry better without the cello. On the other hand, yes, they don't tatter nearly as easily with the cello on. However, no, because they humidify more evenly without the cello. On the other hand, yes, because its easier to transfer from humidor to portable case with the cello on. However, no, because......AAARRGGHH, I GIVE UP!!!!!

Wouldn't that make you half right ALL the time?

cello on or off. it doesn't mattter, except, i find them easier to light with the cello on, so if i store a cigar sans cello, i save the cello so i can light the cigar quicker.

I like those instruments but do they make bass versions too? Knew an old lady that had a cello; she kept it...upright...

JonR,

Wouldn't that also make you 1/2 wrong all of the time as well???

I'm going crazy!

I leave 'em on. Especially 5-packs and such in my desktops. I don't want them to marry.

Whichever side of this EXTREMELY tired issue you adopt, there will be many who agree with you and an equal number who disagree ...

Bottom line is ... it doesn't really matter ... much

IF you go with the cello on option, it DOES pay to keep cigars that don't come with cello apart from those that have it since the cello itself will damage those that are naked while it protects the wrappers of those it encloses ... unless you have flavored cigars (ugh) which should be kept entirely seperate in ANY event, flavors will NOT marry to a discernable extent

HOWEVER, the one thing that almost everyone DOES agree on in regard to this topic is that IF you choose the cello on option, you are well advised to remove it before lighting the cigar ..
