Any comments?

I realize that one should *try* more than a few of a particular cigar before forming a set opinion, but...

YUCK! And I couldn't keep the thing lit...even after massaging it for quite some time. I received it in an All-Star bid that was recently won here.

Was it just a lemon or what?

I can't speak for the cigar but I'm sure I would stay lit after some massaging. X :)

I like the Vintage Maduro's and know several other guys in the group here who do too ... however, I think the Camaroon series is tres ordinaire ...

I was gifted one of the Trophy's that is a sort of barber pole arrangement where a strip of maduro alternates with a stip of camaroon ... it was a good cigar, highly interesting and a great conversation piece, but IMO, it's not good enough to command the regular retain price ...

Had one of the Fittipaldi Trophy (the barber pole wrapper) on the 4th of July. The taste was medium bodied with some spice, good draw, but I couldn't keep it burning straight. I don't know if it was a result of the different wrappers burning funny or what. It was an enjoyable smoke, but not remarkable.

Maybe it was a little wet. You say it tasted bad, and you had to relight. Usually these are two signs of wet tobacco.

Steve, it really didn't taste bad, just not good according to my preferences. And I'm not quite sure exactly which one it was since it was in the sampler pack.

Thinner gauge than what I like...it had quite a tight little draw and frustrated me to no end. I beared with it about 3/4 of the length and then tossed it. I'm sure I'll try another in the future.

Any suggestions as to a stronger, thicker gauge Fittipaldi?

That being said, I have made a cool cigar box purse out of a Fittipaldi white box. I put a clear glass handle on it and lined it in black. It is pretty sharp looking. Their label reminds me of my vette's emblem with the checkered flag...varoom-varoom....

The trophy's do get better with some time. Mine have been sitting for about a month and got quite a bit better. I'll check in on them again in another couple of months. The burn and the taste both seem to smooth out about half way through. Haven't tried any of the other Fittipaldi's.

mine wouldn't stay lit and tasted like soap. I attempted to smoke four of them and was actually surprised at how bad they were ( each time )daha. Isn't the definition of insanity repeating the same action and expecting a different result each time?

... I know for a fact it is when it comes to drinking alcohol ... LOL!

But cigars (and fine wines) ... can (and do) change over time as they age. Some can take years to reach their prime, especially cuban cigars ... as the deman for them is so high, that they are often released while they are still in their 'sick' or green stage.

Sampled the trophy (thanks to Mr. Norman) and was quite pleased. Some dry time prior to light and no harshness, burn problems, or unpleasantries. I nice medium bodied smoke with a touch of spice and leather aftertaste.

E try the Cameroon torpedo, it's the best of the line. The corona leaves a lot to be desired. If you go with the Brazilian maduro line, the toro is the best.

-my qualified 2 cents :)
