Has anyone else here tried any of the Platinum Series Sceptor Cigars by Zino?

This was my first Zino and I was expecting a lot, but I was seriously underwhelmed by it. I t had a nice prelight aroma, the burn was alright. It looked like it wanted to tunnel but never did. The ash was decent, flaky, and dark grey. The flavor was lacking. I really couldn't distinguish a flavor at all. As I was smoking it, I kept thinking hold on and the flavor will kick in at any moment, but nothing. It does have a little kick/power to it, but not much in the flavor category. I guess my disappointment was based on the cigar rep that had built it up so much at the AVO tasting a month or so ago. I'd as sooner light up an AVO maduro that another Zino Platinum.

I have one more in my humidor and will let it sit for 6 months or so and then see what I think of that one.

I'm just curious to see hear what others have to say about it.

I fired up a Zino Platinum Stout for the 4th of July. As you said it is not a full-bodied smoke but I thought it was very flavorful for what I would consider a mild-medium stick. Very well made, loads of creamy smoke perfect burn throughout and a verity of woody and floral notes/flavors. Too expensive to enjoy often. IMHO

I agree very good cigar lots of flavor, medium body nice ash, nice wrapper. But at the price I paid and the hype it got I was expecting more.Don't think I would pay out 35.00$ for a platinum crown

I have actually tried the whole Sctpter line. And guess what? There is not a full flavored one in the bunch. The stoutest one is not the "Stout", it is the "Low Rider" and this is due in great part to the smaller ring size. Even this one falls more into a weak med/full in my book. A not so close second to it would be the "Grand Master". The "Chubby" is tasty but again is a far reach from a solid medium.
Do not get me wrong, I think they are very good cigars. All have a blend of four select tobacco leaves that are well aged, and all are of very good construction. But a "budget" edition line that start at over $10 and is limited to mild/medium? I like them but will be looking for deep discounts before purchasing again in the future.
