For all you folks out on the sidelines wondering who the heck I should trade with on this crazy Forum, all I can say is that life is a roll of the dice...

BUT... I have recently traded (or shared a smoke) with with the gents listed below and all these gents are top shelf in my book... Rasta, funjohnny19, wer, TinMan, billyjackson, BigJeff, Lowman, Docrks, HarleyDave.

Thank you gents, for some really great trades and smokes!

IMHO...

PT ;-)

I think he means "recent" top shelf traders. From the other posts, there are dozens and dozens and yes, even though I've never traded with Slim, I'm sure he's at or very near the top. I throw a few dog rocks out there, but I haven't traded much lately myself either. Some folks are very active traders!

DOH! I THOUGHT WAS ON THE TRADES BOARD! I WENT BACK AND CLICKED THE LINK AND SAID, I'M SURE I JUST POSTED THAT! THEN I CLICKED ON "CIGARS AND RELATED" AND THEN, i understood the meaning of the "doh"...

Robby --- this is a prime example why it's a good idea to keep threads posted on the correct boards ... ;^)

... it eschews obfuscation ...

Slim,

I really did think this was going on the trades forum... I messed that up, huh...

Sorry gents... A simple slip! I promise to do better!

Also, there are MANY great traders on this forum, this thread just named a few I have dealt with.

There are MANY more!

Cheers,

PT

petertyras --- I know that you have been around long enough, and I figured that it was just simple 'slip of the key' ... and that's why all I typed was ...

DOH!

But, later on down the thread, after the additional comments were posted, it became good time to 'strike the iron' and give the 'newbies' to these forums a very good example.

Thanks for the opportunity to make a point, and thank you even more for keeping your 'cool' about it ... that showed a lot of restraint ... and a lot of class!

Wow ... two great examples in one thread ...

... the second being, 'if you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.'

Some people just don't care how messy their homes are, I guess ...

LOL Slim,
You should see my house. I am single, work 6 and a half days a week, and am renting a room to a slob, good thing he's only home 2 days a week.

Slim, and some people are adamant about picking the fuzz off of the carpeting too. Or vacumming each time there's a new footprint on the carpet. Get over it...

Stress, the number one killer. Take a deep breath and loosen that collar...it's a message board.

Marla and Roman - I love you both but Slim is right from my prospective. Someone has to be the LOD and Slim is very good at it! He did not over react to a mis-post by PT. Hell, I even misposted today on the trade board. Actually, I should have posted the B-day wishes under misc.

Just My .02 cents....

Don't want to start a war over this just a modest opinion!

Apparently, there are some people who just don't seem to get it ... and probably never will ... but such is life. It's all good ... and everyone has a right to say how they feel about something. And, I am probably one of the least stressed people on these forums right now ...

All you 'old timers' have heard me harp on this for years ... but the newer folks may be interested in 'one man's opinion' ... and can take it or leave it.

Please understand, that the point I was trying to make doesn't go anywhere near the extreme that Marla likes to portray ...

... maintaining a little structure and dignity to this place (is that asking too much?) only insures that the CigarBid forums will always rank at the top of the 'BB world', as far as the 'class of people' who come here (and stay) ... and only secures the good reputation of these forums, and will also helm maintain the respect that it has earned over the years ...

If you think about it, all that posting on the appropriate boards does ... is help people out. Some folks are very busy, and only have time to view certain boards at certain times of the day. In doing this, you are making it easier for them, as they go to the board they are interested in, to see the threads they want to read. Without it, they may have to search all the boards to find it ... so you are only doing your fellow readers a service.

... and also, the threads that interest YOU will be easier to find.

These forums here are NOT just another 'message board', as far as myself, and many others have come to understand ... it's more like a home away from home, and we are all part of one big 'cigar smoking' family.

... it's a place where we can all feel comfortable ... IMHO ... and the more comfortable we all can help to make it, the better it's going to be ...

It's just how I feel about it ... and I guarantee you, that just bugs some people to no end ... ;^)

I've said all I can ... any any more would just make it more redundant than it has already become ...
