Last night I smoked my first La Perla Habanna Black Perl. It had to be one of the best smokes I've had yet... Are all Maduros like this? I was impressed. With the right drink it left kind of a chocolate taste in your mouth. Anybody else like these?

I like the Maduro as well as the 'Black Pearl' from La Perla ... wonderful cigars! Right now I'm flying through a box of the Perfecto Maduro ... as I just can't seem to keep my hands off them.

Man ... great testimonial ... especially from someone who has access to Cuban cigars all day long!

Where's limoric ... I want him to see this ...

I too,
Smoked my first Black Pearl, last night, on the drive home last night. I was not impressed, until I got past the first 1/2". Then the cigar exploded with flavor. Awesome semi-sweet choclate flavors. It got better, with every puff. As I neared the first stop sign, of 2 in my 40 mile commute, 5 miles from home, the flavor went south, nasty. I turned on the dome light, to find that I was smoking the band. Ripped off the band, and smoked it down to a nub, enjoying every puff. I will be bidding on these, from now on.

P.S. Last night I saw 2 cars, on my drive home. The traffic was terrible. LOL

Well, let me join the bandwagon on these smokes. Though they aren't in my regular rotation, I do remember enjoying these smokes very much, especially the Maduro, Black Pearls. Probably have a few sleeping for a while in one of my humidors....time for me to wake one up.

Ok ok ok...........Hmmmmmmmmm...........Ya the black peral is pretty good. It is so far the best Non-isom I've had. Cwelhelmi sent it to me along with a CAO black, Pedron Maddie, AF Cuban beli and Exodus 1959 Torp or beli. Of all of these(Except 1959)the peral was my favorite. Now that It's on my mind, I think I'll lite up the 1959 today. I still have approximately 60 smokes from all you folks, it's gonna take me a while at 2 per week.

I definately believe the Black Peral can stack up to a lot of Cubans, especially for the money. Good thing Sketcha just sent me another, It'll have to wait its turn, but I think I'll sneak it up the line.

I was gifted one of these by JJ at last years... LOLH.. I think it was JJ anyways... I smoked it a week or so after the herf... at that time it was still way to young.. "needing purging allot" uneven burn and went out a few times... I thin got a few more from joedink... one I smoked one and left the other to rest... I think it may still be resting I'll have to look... although I enjoyed these... their a bit heavy for myself... so for me their good trading material LoL

LOL Lim.. I think I only have the one left.. and the shipping would be more then the Cigar itself!!!

I tell ya what.. the LOLH is coming up soon and if you come in for that one.. I'll toss you a package together (along with that lonesome Black Pearl) for your travels... Oh and bring lots of greenbacks because the before, during and after events are fantastic!!! you wouldn't be sorry!!!

O.K., my turn.

I've tried over 40 sticks (probably peanuts to many of you) so far and the Black Pearl is my favorite.

I will have to play the role of contratian here and say that I was disappointed in the black pearls. I really, really wanted to like them after all I had heard about them. However, I found them remarkably lacking in flavor. Beautifully made, but the flavor was so subtle and monodimensional that I probably wouldn't order them again. I even let most of them rest, hoping that age would add to the flavor. But in the end, just too mild and even uninteresting taste. I know I'm woebegone and unworthy in holding such a position, but...what can I say. I just wasn't impressed. A major surprise after all I had heard about them.

I've only had a few, but they are excellent so far. I like the regular La pearla habanas too, but the Black Pearls are definately much better...just my opinion...

Had my first black pearl last nite after dinner...although pretty good...after the 1st 1/4 which I found a little harsh...it settled down to a pretty good ..not great smoke....found construction a little loose and draw too easy...faster burn than I would like...laying rest down for awhile to see if it improves....so far I give it 7.5 or so..actually I like the comparable Alex B. trilogy a little better but don't really care for the funky shape of it...maybe it'll grow on me..
