In the whole food chain of things where does ultra refined go. Is it better or worse that triple refined.

Who knows? It's Madison Ave. gobbledy-gook-quasi-tech-speak for the uninformed and doesn't conform to any agreed upon standard. Caveat Emptor

It may just be a marketing slant. What is it in reference too?

I don't know much about the levels of refined butane, but it seems that if they just state "ultra" it could mean anything.

Triple sounds like the more refined to me.

Well.......LAVA is quintuple refined. But that wouldn't be "ultra" I suppose, since it has only been refined 5X. When you get to the bottom line, couldn't you repeatedly refine butane indefinitely??? :}

I would want to know whether it was triple refined. Ultra sounds like it could be anything.

Triple-refined, quadruple-refined or quintuple-refined are specific terms that indicate the product has been refined three, four or five times.

Ultra-refined, however, is a non-specific term that could mean absolutely ANYthing ... I'd bet it's an inferior product which has been so labeled in order to reach into the wallet of the unwary ...

hey, let's face it ... if the product WERE triple- or better refined, it would say so ... and triple- or better refined IS what you want ...

True, it was cheaper, but I thought it being "ultra" should at least be double refined. BUT maybe not.
