Has anybody given these a try yet? They look to be not much more than the Puros Indios pyramid that has been aging for 4 years...are they worth the extra $$$ or is this just an overpriced version of the original Puros Indios.

Let me clarify - they are not priced higher, but I still wonder if they are worth it...

I've tried a couple (not these particular gars, bur PI in general), I'm not a big fan of the line. Others may love them though.

The Puro Indio's are good gars. While the Maxima Reserva's are nothing Short of Fantastic. IMHO.

I've smoked several of the torpedo size - liked them so much, came back and bought 12 at bid. They are VERY tasty, although on the mild side. I like them a lot - take that from a guy who usually smokes only full bodied sticks. As for the price, you'll have to decide - I bought them as an inexpensize, big, "fishing cigar," and was pleasantly surprised at the taste and construction of this stick.

I bought a box of the PI Maduros and have smoked a couple of them. They are not a "go to" cigar for me. Number one, slightly too mild for my particular taste, and, number two, they have a subtle flavor I don't really care for. Hard to describe.......not "green" exactly, but to use a rural Southern term, they have a "whang" to them. Been in my igloodor for about 10 months now, so I'm going to give them another try and see if they're more in line with my individual taste.

Well, I sure hope they don't taste like "whang" because that stirs up some pretty disgusting thoughts...

I have had the original "green label" Puros Indios (I am indifferent on them - they are ok in book) and I was more wondering if the "special aged" is the same blend as those and they are nothing more than a cigar that has been sitting around in a corner for 5 years and someone gets the idea to sell them as a "special" cigar. If that is the case I still have 6 or 7 Puros Indios #4 I bought a box of back in 1999 that would be considered "special aged" ...I guess I am just a little confused of what they really are.

Speaking of the PI Maxima Reserva...

Get Hoagie55 on here! I wanna know if he smoked the PI Maxima Reserva I sent him as a bonus 'gar in our trade! I hope he appreciated it, because after that bad incident with one of my local cigar sellers, I might never see the Maxima Reserva again :-(
