Do you know what companies are offering free promotional cigars right now? I got one from AVO and hear Torano has one but can't find how to get it.

At first I was reluctant to tell everyone about those b/c I had this image of the poor company getting flooded with requests for freebies and sinking the whole company.... now I realize that they do that so they can give as many away as possible and hook more loyal customers.... go to the torano website and register under torano insiders... it will take a few weeks...

That free Toraño is a good stick. It got me hooked on them. I also really enjoyed the AVO. That was one marketing ploy that worked with me.

I signed up for both of them. Cigar family has a pretty good deal as well. You get a tee shirt and four cigars and their newsletter for joining the J.C. Newman Cigar Connoisseurs Club. I think it cost $12.

For some reason Torano sent me a second free cigar. I recieved my first about a month ago and then yesterday I found another in my mail box when I got home :-)

When I was looking for AVO's free deal, I looked all over their site and found nothing

Talk to godfather, he might still have the web address so you can get a free AVO Classic robusto in a tube. It's hard as hell to find the page for it

Gentlemen...

Let's say I did create and maintain a website.

1)No way I would make it myname.com
2)You ain't gettin' nuttin' for free.
3)It might be smokin'...and it might have plenty of Cubans, Dominicans...maybe even some Puerto Ricans and Jamaicans....

...but it wouldn't be cigars!

Actually...

Everything I said in my previous post is a lie.

I am learning Dreamweaver and putting together my first site just for the helluvit.

It will be free.

My name will be in the URL because it will be hosted on my university's server.

And it will contain pics and "reviews" of some favorite smokes and spirits.

No poetry or women til I learn how to build a good website.

billyjackson,
Thanks for the link to the Dimeola cigars.
I got the AVO one (I liked it) and the Torano(It is resting) samples and didn't know about the dimeola.
Appreciate the heads up.

Slim...

No, you don't hate to harp. You do it every chance you get. Did I miss something? Do you work for CBid? I thought they paid people to monitor the board. But you have taken it upon yourself to scour the posts for any opportunity to jump someone's case about rules and posting in the right place, etc. And most everyone else seems to think it is funny and even present you with your very own scepter (Slim Slap).

I've not given anyone hell like I could have and wanted to about things. I have tried to pass along the generosity that I was shown by others on the board. But you set your own speed trap just waiting to catch a mishap so you can herald yourself as the one who is trying to keep the board in order.

I realize that you have a deep reputation here and that I risk being snubbed form conversation and trades...so be it. I'm the new guy; I understand that it may go this way.

But I must go on record to say that I for one think you are a hack for thinking you are the Law of the Land.

Harp on, Sheriff!

Billy

Here we go again. Seems like one of these dramas play out a couple times a month lately.

Billy, seems to me like you were the one waiting to pounce. Been saving up that diatribe? Feel better?

billyjackson --- don't get our panties in a bunch ... the 'LOD' had been a tradition around here for a long time.

Like it or not, the fact is ... you bent one of the 'Forum Rules & Conditions' of our hosts ... by posting a link to a website that links to cigar sales, and I doubt very seriously that it will last too long anyway, before it is edited out ...

... and it's obvious by your statemnt to me, you blatantly knew you were breaking the rules.

Whether I work for CBID or not is irrelevant ... I've been helping them out since the conception of these forums, and I doubt that will ever change. And, the fact of the matter is, I HAVE NOT had the need to do it much lately (it was much more 'heavy-handed' in the past) ... as most people have learned to abide by the requests of those that DO run this site.

... and FYI, I do this with their full support. In fact Steve even calls me the 'Law Dawg' ... LOL!

Just be cool ... do what's right ... and I won't have to remind anyone, and I apologize if this bothers you ...

Hey somebodys gotta run hall monitor around here!! I for one appreciate the fun and stuff that goes on in here. Who cares if your get your cyber hand slapped every now and then for doing the wrong thing. And yes I have been slim\slime ( sorry could not resist ) a few times. It is just a friendly reminder that you need to stick to the rules that are set by our friendly sponsers here at cbid. Nothing more Nothing Less. So sit back and enjoy the fun and banter and like I have. Life is to short to be upset :-)

Hey,

Just got my avo sample. Took only 1 week to get to me but... problem. The tubo is crushed - almost flattened in the middle. What a let down. $2.00 for nothing. Really wanted to try this smoke too.

Oh yes, by the way...

I have been slim slaaped a bunch of times, some deservedly, some not, but... I recognize his efforts and enjoy the order and focus of these forums, that is the result.

Thanks petertyras ...

Those who get it ... understand ...

... those that don't ...

... never will.

And probably would have a much better time over on one of those 'no-holds-barred' forums anyway ...
