Well tonight I went to Wallmart and "stimulated the economey" with a 150 quart Igloo cooler :-) I've been mooching space in Groucho's coolers. I have about 10 boxes over there, and just got a box today. The Ploomidor is FULL! no room at the Inn... So I'm going to be leasing a small (150 quart size) space in Groucho's basement :-)

I'm going to take the cooler to the in-laws tomorrow evening and get the Ploomidor gars out of the fridge. They went in to the freezer Saturday AM. In to the Fridge this AM, and I'm picking them up tomorrow night and will climatize them for the next two days in the new igloo. Then back in to the Ploomidor Friday and I deliver the cooler to Groucho for LTS (Long Term Storage...)

mother-in-law very gently removed the cigars from the freezer yesterday AM and placed them in her fridge after she made room. This AM she carefully removed them from the fridge and drove them over immediately and very carefully placed them in my new igloo 150 quart. I think she likes me :-)

Just got things out of the cooler and back in the ploomidor. They all looked fine, no damage as a result of their ordeal. All in all, a royal pain in the butt!! I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Hopefully my first and last experience.

Evidently I didn't do a very good job wiping out the interior... I suffered some loss of the stock and am re-freezing the dwindling remains :-( oh well, they always make more!

I have read in some places that a normal freezer does not get cold enough to kill the larva.

Also, Does the infestation spread, or are only the sticks that the larvae hatched in going to get trashed?
