Got one today and smoked it. I should have gotten a box.
Taste was excellent!
It had an excellent Cameroon taste to it and a nice draw to it.
The only thing that I didn't like about it was that it ended too soon. :)
I could really like this one as a regular.
If you get a chance, this is a good cigar, in my opinion. :)

They make a few different sizes of these. I've liked em all for quite some time. Great price too!

Excellent cameroon cigar and IMHO one of the best cameroons right up there with CAO and Fuente Hemingway. I keep a healthy supply especially for the mornings with coffee. For the best cameroon, I tip my hat to Don Carlos.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm down to one FdOGC but I've got two of the 12 packs (6mad/6cam) w/ humi coming UPS on Thurs courtesy of cbid. Think I'll take that last cameroon I've been saving and savor it over coffee and the morning paper.

Opatience,

I discovered the samething a month or so ago.

Read this old post for some insight. Many folks hold this smoke right up there with much more expensive smokes!

I make these part of my regular selection!

the Oliva Grand Cameroon is one of my favorites, along with just about everything else Oliva makes.

If you have another one (which I'm sure you will ;-D ), try this little pairing...

Get you a big Grand Cameroon and pour yourself a glass of ginger ale. The spiciness of the ginger and the spiciness of the Cameroon wrapper, IMHO, compliment each other very well, and both leave the tingly, spicy feeling on the tip of your tongue.

Canada Dry works well, but if you can, get on of the more expensive kinds (such as Blenheim, Spreckers, etc.), because they are usually a lot spicier than normal ginger ale, and taste oh so good with a Cameroon.

The best, I think, is our Nations oldest soda, Vernors Ginger Ale, and it was created over 130 years ago.

It is the only Ginger Ale that is "aged" ... that is because Vernors Ginger Ale extract was still aged in oak casks for four years, before it is ever used to produce the soft drink.

If you want to taste Ginger Ale the way it was meant to taste ... then do whatever you can to locate an sample Vernor's Ginger Ale (distribution is only in limited areas).

Thanks everyone,
It feels good to know I came upon a good one and that everyone confirmed it.
Now I will add this one to my gotta have cigar list. :)
And I will have to locate some good gingerale.
There is a place somewhere around here that is supposed to make old fashioned gingerale and root beer, I'll have to see if I can locate them.

Help me out here.
The one I had yesterday was a Robusto 4.5x50
and was excellent, but short.
My question is, I was looking to buy a box and while I know I like the Robusto, would the Torpedo 6.5x52 be as good or better?

... they're all good!

You can't go wrong either way ... and to me, the only difference, is the time it takes to smoke them.

The torpedo is terrific. It took just over an hour to finish this morning. A nice box press torp is really my favorite shape/vitola though.

Thanks guys.
I was hoping that was the case, looks like I will get a box of torpedos coming.
I like it when I come across something this good. :)

A real beauty.

Finished my last one yesterday. Had two boxes of the 7" torps. Have had other sizes, all real good, great price. Will order more.

Damm, now all the people who had second thoughts about them will buy them and there goes the price!

Even at CI it isn't a bad price.

I just ordered a box from CI. Whoo hoo!!!
Great price. Those folks are pretty good to deal with and their customer service even knows what Pacific time is. I just called them to place the order at 4:00 Pacific time and someone answered. From my viewpoint, that is great! Normally I have to try and do all my business before 2:00 and rarely do I get everything done.
For an extra $5 I got 2nd day UPS, which it was worth it to me. I have a patience problem, you know. ;)

rjdc,
Sorry about that.
It is just that it was sooo good, I had to let someone know about it and to be honest, I really thought I had a good find and thought others would like to know about it.
Seems others do. ;)
It is a cigar that I could easily have as an everyday cigar. The bad thing is, cigars like this one tend to spoil you. Then it is hard to have cigars that match the taste and smoking pleasure.
I've had a couple others that I'd say tasted and smoked as good, but cannot recall their names. I think one may have been a padron and I am pretty sure the other was a CAO.
I am still learning and there is still tons of good cigars I have not tried, but this one gets moved up to the top of my list for right now (got to keep an open mind). :)

Have yet to have a "bad" Oliva; of course some are better than others. Love the new Oliva "O" with the bold on the label. Think they're a really improved version.

I dunno, arwings, I hade an Oliva Grande Maduro today, and I wasn't too impressed.

Maybe it was that one, but much prefer the O and the Grand Cameroon to their Maduro selection (although I haven't had an O Maduro yet, so that might change)
