I am new to cigars and really enjoy the CAO Brazilia but I find it to be a little expensive. Are there any similar smokes that you might recommend?

I also love the Brazilia line. I usually like the thick ring guage but tried my first Piranah and liked it as well. I find the Partagas Black Label to be similar although not as spicey. Padron Maduros and La Gloria Cubana Series R might be a good try as well. The La Flor Dominicana might be a good substitute.

you might try leon jimenes maddies and the carlos torano signature, both have brazillian maduro wrappers. Not quite as good as the CAO's in my opinion but fine smokes and slightly cheaper.

Try the Carlos Torano Signature, like bildo said. These are very good smokes. As a matter of fact this smoke got the highest rating Smoke Mag ever gave, a 4.7!

The Carlos Torano Signature is a very delicious smoke. I have had about 6 now and the only problem I have had is with the banding. Everyone had at least one of the bands (they have three) firmly glued to the wrapper. When you try to remove the glued bands it really puts a hurt on the wrapper. I have a bad habbit of smoking a cigar I really like right to a stub so I usually remove all bands, but you have to be really careful with these. I had one this morning and the lower bands came off without too much damage, but when I later removed the upper band, after the cigar warmed up, I almost lost the whole wrapper.

Good luck

Qball, I know what you mean. I hate it when bands are glued on... :>(

Don't immediately remove the bands. I have discovered with the ToraƱo sticks, you start smoking them and by the time the fire gets close to the band, the heat has loosened the band and it slides right off. Let the heat from the cigar do the work.

Well guys, even though I usually do let the cigars get warm before I try to pull the bands, I thought I would let these things get warmer. I case your not familiar with the Torano Signature, there are three bands on it. So I let the stick burn right up to the band until it started to get toasted. At each level it remained slightly stuck, but when I got to the last band I think it was superglued. It took a hunk out of the wrapper. Now that's five sticks, all with the same problem. I don't know if it's just this batch or Torano just isn't paying attention. I think I'll give Keith or Trish a call on this one.
