All,

I went for my two week follow up visit with the doctor today. I got the staples removed, the retaining sutures removed, as well as the feeding tube. Yeah!

I lost 37 pounds in those two weeks! What a GREAT start! I'm so excited and can't wait for the next 37 pounds to go.

The only questionable thing that happened as a result happened at Walgreens while shopping for some heartburn medication. My wife noticed that I was bleeding profusly thru the bandages and my t-shirt. We hurried home, cleaned up the wound, and found out that I was bleeding thru the hole where the feeding tube was located. With a little pressure, it clogged up and I am as good as I was when I left the doctor's office.

We did call the doctor about the bleeding and he didn't seem too concerned with it as long as we got it to clog in a short period of time.

Now all I have to do is continue eating soft foods, watch the wound to insure it heals alright, drink plenty of fluids, and walk and the weight will melt off.

Great news. Glad to hear you are doing so well. My mom developed a hankering for blueberry buckle babyfood after she had the procedure. She would eat the heck out of that stuff since it's somewhat sweet. She's lost a lot of weight and feels soooo much better.

Hang in there.

Rocco,

I will definitely post some before and after pics. The doctor's office took several before pics that I will post in a year. They take the after pics on your one year anniversary. I should have most of my weight off my then and will post both pics at that time.

Later,
Matt
