Hey, abennett23, all that college football rivalry got my competitive juices going.... if you posted another reply on the other thread, I was going to offer this up, but since you didn't... here's my proposition: every time Tennessee wins and Notre Dame doesn't you send me a few cigars. Every time Notre Dame wins and Tennessee doesn't - I send you a few cigars. Whoever has the team with the lower record (not standing) at the end of the season (following bowl games) sends the other a nice package of cigars. I know that this means that I'll constantly be sending you cigars through the season, but at least I'll be rewarded in the end...

; )

whadaya say???

LMAO,

Why is it that running sports smack is so hilarious and good natured, but political debates always drag the board down into a base nastiness?

Anyhoo, I'd be happy to bet cigars on any and every K-State game this season (too bad I missed out on those McNeese State and Mass games)...waiting for the "soft preseason" flame. lol.

Are you kidding me? Marshall? I can't believe the season is over already. Who knows, maybe Rice will beat Texas tonight? I'll quietly slink away into the dark now.

Bwahahahahaha!!!! UGA...UGA...UGWho?

Seriously, that was about as good as a game gets! Kudos to Georgia b/c they matched LSU tit for tat, but they finally got to see how it feels to be on the other end of a nail-biter. See you in Atlanta!

tonester666,

The Big 10/12 or whatever it is calling itself this year can't hang with the SEC in basketball. You need to crawl back to your cave and hang there until you see the light!

The Vols sure showed up at the Swamp yesterday. What a huge victory for them!

Wow! Can my ego fall any further than it already has? (yes, I know it started very high...) Well, I have to hand it to Tennesse, I had my package all ready to send out, but I guess I get another one this week! The ONLY good thing to come out of that Notre Dame game was that I think we actually found a decent QB! Man, that 18 year old sure can sling it! The future is bright, boys!!!

I agree, the boy's got potential, however.....
Like a good cigar, that is green..... he needs some humi time.
He's got an arm but he lacks experience, and wisdom comes from experience. A good quarter back makes desitions on the fly, uses past experience, knowledge of the game, and team experience to make those decissions, and my boy has very little of that. I imagine next season will be alot better than this season, I hope he turns out to be another Montana........

umm... I don't remember... but if it wasn't for the REF'S we would have won! Man - two totally blown calls!!! We ain't out of it yet - look at the upsets that are being pulled off - no one's going to go undefeated this year.... in fact... I bet everyone will lose at least two... yeah, that's it.... this could still be our year..... !!! (sometimes you can have too much faith....)

Dangit, why does Notre Dame have to hurt my trash talking abilities so much!

Just wait until you play Lou Holtz next weekend - I see a former Irishman exacting some revenge!!!

Holy Crap!!! Anthony, you suck!!! I FINALLY get his pathetic package from Tennessee and what do I find when I open it???? A freakin' orange and white pompom!!! Nice try bro, but it will take more than a pompom to get me to root for the puny little Volunteers (what kind of a mascot is that any way??) - however, the OPUS X that you sent me Just MIGHT make me root for them!!!! OMG!!!!! All joking aside - that was quite a package!

Anthony, you are one class act (for a UT fan..)!!! When I tossed out this little bet, I intended just a few cigars (like TWO!!)! This guy sends me TEN!!! And NOT a ONE is BAD! La Tradicion, Carlos Torano, CAO L'Anniv., Perdomos, AF, etc, and an OPUS X!!!!! Wow, bro, if the season continues the way it started, you're gonna have to cut back a little!

(but I'm sure that won't happen....)

Can't wait until next week - Notre Dame will get their revenge and I'll get my retaliation!

Hoagie - please do not confuse the Big 10 with the Big 12 major differences there. I have to disagree with your SEC opinion. We are talking men not women here. The ACC and Big 10 are the top in basketball. If it wasn't for Kentucky it would be SE who??

BTW this was a football discussion.
Oh yeah, who won the national championship last year???
Don't believe it was the Amish or any SEC loser.

sec verses big 10 (11)(arithmetic must not be a core class in the mid west). The overall win % of the sec in basketball last year was:
W 220 L 145 or 60%
big 11
W 200 L 146 or 57%
you say without Kentucky:
W 188 L 141 or 57% so you take out our champion and we still have the same winning percentage as the litle 10...oh and don't tell me you want to compare top to bottom in football with the SEC.

hmmm, last year the SEC played the Big10 in 10 games. Here is the result.

Big10 8 wins SEC 2 wins. I think this says it all.

Out of curiosity where did these rankings come from?

Soft schedule? You gotta be kidding. Kentucky always play a tough schedule. For that matter, Florida, play tough competition as well. Most of the SEC plays a tough non-conference schedule. You must be smoking something other than cigars to make this weak schedule comment.

You are right one one aspect, the SEC did have an off year last year. We'll see how things go this year.

Keep smoking cigars, not that funny green stuff!

Ok, I've sraped the egg off my face and mixed it around with the crow that I'm currently eating.... this was a VERY bad idea as my Irish did NOT back up all my trash talk (there's always NEXT YEAR!), but at least I received some VERY excellent smokes from abennet - this guy is amazing!!! So, I guess this thing is over 'cause Tennessee is done, right? If so, I will be getting your victors box out to you soon - filled with lots of Blue, Green and Gold!!!!!

BTW - Go Tigers!!!!! (gotta jump on SOMEONE'S bandwagon!!!)

Actually Tennessee is in a bowl game so our season is not over like some. However even if Tennessee loses the bowl game they will still have a better final record than the Amish so yes it is over. Looking forwad to my victory smokes
