I tried a search on this but found nothing...

How do you guys keep inventory of your cigars. Do you use a software program, Excel spreadsheet, etc...

Just curious as I seem to have difficulty keeping track of what I have going out and coming in.

Thanks

I think I said this once, but everytime I open a coolerdor, I do a quick manual audit of every stick and catalog for future use. With 300-400 sticks, it takes a good 3 seconds or so.

Chipslave... I've been using Microsoft Word for years now...

I copy my Invoices from Cbid or anywhere else I buy from... then paste it to my word doc. I can go back in and add comments on what cigar flavors to myself what I drank with it and how long it's been in my Humidor...

I did this for about a year... then haven't been back to the practice since 2001/2002 time frame
I add what Cbid or some other site has to say about the Cigar... then I can add my own comments...

but like I said I fell away from my listing the details and such... now I just keep a picture post memory.... as I did before I had a computer LoL...

I guess it sounds weird but I can recall the Taste of my Very First Cohiba Sig #3... and I have always tried to compare every cigar to that taste so many moons ago!!! Try it sometime!!!!

Hog

btw I also listed what I gave for each.. broke that down by Per Cigar cost... included in shipping...

I don't keep inventory. I open the humidor up and grab a stick to try (I have lots of singles). When I find something I like I remember it and try to add some to the humidor. When I open the humidor to get that cigar and there aren't any I know its time to get more.

I found a good FREE software program that seems like it might do the job. Cigar trakker looks like it will work for me ok. Do an "oogle" search, don't forget the "g" for it and it will be the first link.

Ahhhh free.... such a nice word ;) Now if y'all will excuse me I have lots of inventorying to do... LOL

I don't know... part of me likes the whole experience of digging in my humi and discovering a treasure that you forgot was in there. Plus.. I'm lazy.... maybe once I get a stash like some of the seniors here, then it will become necessary... but it will take more than a couple coolers to make me do that much work...by the way, Jay... I can't remember if I have any 858's... but I'm pretty sure I don't, so maybe you should send me some (I heard you had a few)...

WOW!! You guys are professionals. I don't how many sticks are in my humi, I just know if I have one or not. I like digging in my humi too, I once found Jimmy Hoffa in one of my humis.

I am not concerned as much with my inventory but I like to track who/what I traded. There have been many times when I smoked a trade gar and thought wow I REALLY like that one. Now what the hell was it??? I guess I could just cut my trades way back.

Like Ethan I too am lazy and like that surprise when I thought I was all out of a personal favorite.

Now I DO need to keep track of trades. Tony expressed my experiences perfectly. Plus, I need to keep track of needed retaliation... (you know who you are)

Ethan... you will have to wait until I get your box pass. I will leave a nice gift for you in there.... Call me anal, but I like to know what I have coming and going. ;)

I've got a lot of cigars ... and I'm doin' just fine without a software operating system OR a manual system ... I think if I got catelogueing stuff like it were library books, it'd take away part of the pleasure ...
