I'm a newbie to cbid and have been having lots of fun. It's great to get some great gars cheap, and try stuff I've never heard of. Now I want to pick some of your brains for advice. Other than constantly checking the humidity of my humidors, my biggest worry is temp. What are some of your opines on keeping them in the bathroom where I keep it warmer with a heater, as well as the humidity from the shower? Tnks. [email protected]

if your house is between 60 and 80 degrees, you don't need a heater for your cigars.

i keep my sweaterbox humidors in the bathroom because all my other rooms are full. what with diverticulitis disease, cable tv and hundreds of cigars in plain view in the bathroom, make for a more pleasant experience.

You really don't want the swings in humidity such as a bathroom but you may want to consider humidifying the room your humidors are in this winter because the humidity generally dips way down in cooler climates. That and higher humidity generally make your house feel warmer even at lower temperatures alowing you to lower the thermostat.

I'm surprized to see not one of you guy's mentioned to him about the Igloodor's??

also do you have a basement? I regulate my Cigars between 65-70% 65-70 degree's year round...
winter time for myself is the hardest to keep this process going... and keeps myself and the wife busy keeping the humidity levels because of the lack of humidity...

Thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it. I had thought about the basement, but this house I'm renting is really old, and there is mold down there. That worries me. Kind of like the rogue yeast/mold that can affect your beer mash when homebrewing. I saw the coolerdor ins. at CI. Maybe I'll experiment this winter and see what happens.
