I just saw these on Altadis USA's website.

Of course, I've seen and smoked the Serie V, but now I see they make a Serie VI and VII.

The website gave almost no information, and only showed one or two sizes for each brand.

Anyone got some info on these?

I don't know what the differnce is. I have a couple V in the humidor. Have you tried a Monte Platnium? If not I'll bring one to the Herf. They are my favorite.

Is the Platinum the same as the CDA's? I see Delacroix's artwork on them and I thought he was commisioned for the CDA's only. I really like that cigar, but then I discovered Bucanero and Montecristo stopped making CDA's. Fair trade I guess, but I wish I would've squirreled away a truckload of those babies!

I do not know if they are the same as the CDA's. The platiums are the ones with the artwork on the box/tubes. I will bring a few to the Indy Herf.

Smaddox: I haven't tried the Monte Platinum, but I do have one resting in the humi.

MaddVibe: I was wondering the same thing, whether Plat and CDA were the same. I have one of both brands.

But did they really stop making the Les Cigares des Arts?

I know a place in Southern Indiana in a city called New Albany (my home town) across the river from Louisville KY that still has some. Anyone want info on them, email me

I was just at the local smoke shop and they said that the Platnium was being replaced with the "white label". The construction looked the same and they were in the same type of display box.

I think that's right, smaddox.

On the Altadis website, they no longer list either Platinum nor CDA, so maybe White is their replacement.

But what about this Montecristo Afrique I keep hearing about? They never mention it on Altadis' website.

oldrover --- FYI, we don't mention competitors by name on our hosts forums ... ;^)

Thread Jack here...

Slim,

Honest question, even though we've had our run-in...
Was the reference a competitor reference because they have a "Find a Retailer" link on the site? Or was there a direct purchase link that I could not find?

Still thinking you take the LOD crap too seriously,
Billy

billyjackson --- It's not the Altadis USA's website reference I was refering ... that is OK.

Now, if you re-read oldrover's post again, you will notice that he mentions the 'initials' of a competitor that also has a online website ... and over the years, those particualr initials have always been edited out by admin every time they showed up ... when they caught it.

It dosen't hurt anyone, to remind folks of something they may not be aware of, and most are grateful ... and it's a role I've been playing since these forums started.

It's just the was it is ... so don't let it bother you. I've discussed this with the staff of CB, and they've told me more times than I can count, that they appreciate the help ...

Seems I can't help but put myself out of place. I'm getting toward the age that I should let things go...

...but I am a moth to your flame, Slim.

Sorry... didn't realize they were a competitor, since my understanding is the distribution company wholesales these to other web retailers who wish to sell them.

billyjackson --- you crack me up ... hehehe ...

You are probably correct, oldrover ... it's just that there IS a site that goes by the same name ... ;^)
