I am a fan of the Flor de Oliva Grand Cameroons, as are many on this site. I want to try the Grand Maduros, but have been unable to find any. Are they discontinued or something?

I agree. In general there aren't enough maduros on these auctions, I'd bid a lot more if there were more maduros.

I agree...MORE MADUROS...I am always happy to check the auctions and see Punch and Hoyo Double Maduro Rothchilds (YumYum) on the auction block....Those are incredibly good IMHO!

I emailed the guys at cigarbid and supposedly they are having some supply problems with the Grand Maduro line. They told me as soon as they got enough to auction they would put them up. They are available on a few other sites but I'm holding out for CB if possible.

Grand Maduro? I have had three of the Cameroons and am still not convinced these are worth all this hype. Take off that Cameroon wrapper and what's left is average tobacco.

I went in on a box of Belicosos's with Cliff and I really liked the maduro line. I thought it was much better than the Cameroon line. It's a med-full bodied smoke with a really nice wrapper. Not as good as CAO's eXtremes but nice. It's worth a try guys! ....Brent

The Flor De Oliva Grand Cameroon is my favorite everyday smoke. I think that the filler is very tasty. The wrapper is just icing on the cake. The Maduro version is very good also. At only $2 each, there is absolutely nothing to complain about. They smoke better than most $6-$8 sticks.

I did a comparison tasting last night between the Mayorga Maduro and the Grand Cameroon. The Mayorga won by a good margin. The Grand Cameroon was a fine smoke but did not have the flavor of the Mayorga. Next up: The Mayorga Maduro vs. La Luna Maduro Fuerte.......

Unklebill: can you send me one of each so that I can do that same side to side survey? Just kidding. I have both in my humidor. The Mayorga Maduro does have more flavor than the Grand Cameroon. But you are comparing apples and oranges. A good maduro wrapper adds a definite strength to the flavor. Cameroon wrappers are a mellower taste. I like both. I would suggest comparing the FDO Grand Cameroon to a CAO L'Anniversaire Cameroon. Personally, I would pick the FDO (at half the price of CAO).

Good call J. I would pick up the CAO over the Flor if the prices were equal, but since they are not.....I will just stick with the Mayorga. I realize the wrappers are different and deliver different kicks, but my preference remains with the Mayorga.

Gentlemen, this is exactly my point. The FDO Grand Cameroons are tasty but I am a Maduro fan. If CI ever gets the Grand Maduros then we could compare it fairly to the Mayorga! Merry Christmas all.

I have both the FDO Grand Cameroon and Grand Maduro in my humidor. Both are good, but I tend to favor the Cameroon. It's all a matter of taste. I do love Maduro wrappers but they run second to Cameroon, IMHO.

Jack (Jcrimmins) was nice enuff to send me a CAO L'Anniversaire Cameroon and a FLor De Oliva Grand Cameroon about a month ago, do I decide to do a little taste test to compare...I enjoyed both, noting with the CAO a "cherry-like" taste on the finish (which was good, but it kind of lost flavor on the finish and started to get pretty harsh), the FDO beat the CAO hands down in taste, flavor, and construction...Smoked that puppy down to the nub!..Surprised the ---- out of me!...I am a huuuuge fan of CAO's L'Anniversaire lines, but I was really impressed with the FDO...Thanks Jack!

Tailgater. Send me an e-mail with your address. I'll set you up with the FDO Grand Maduro. I think you'll like them.
