Any ideas for destinations revolving around cigar production? I know that you cbid guys have some...Jon, what about you?

Mike and I want to travel the first 2 weeks of January. Seeing how most tobacco fields and cigar manufacturing is done in tropical climates, we thought that it would be fun to check out some of those sites along with some great beaches.

I know some guys on HP that are going to Honduras later in January (we can't go at that time) and I'm wondering what the concensus is on when and where to go...

We were thinking of going to Belize and Costa Rica, when the thought popped in my head to involve cigars...

It'd be some trip if we could get a gang o' herfers to go!!!

Let me hear you...

Marla

The Cigar Family is organizing two trips in Feb 2004 to visit/tour the Fuente factories in the Dominican Republic. Registration doesn't begin until Oct 15, but details are on their webpage (www.cigarfamily.com).

I've been to both Belieze and Costa Rica (primarily for birdwatching/snorkeling) and they are beautiful places. Although I don't know about cigar themed tours, I've found the best trip prices at an operation called Capricorn Leisure Travel (google search for the site).

Marla, There is a trip from Miami to Honduras Jan 25-28 to visit the Eiroa Plantation that makes Baccarat,Camacho aand other cigars. Thew plan is to fly to Miami for a few days upfront and visit Torano Cigars and others, herf with them and then fly to Honduras. These dates get us home in time for Superbowl. Cost is 440 for the Miami/Honduras flight and accomodations at the plantation. RT to Miami is about 250-300. Email me if you want more info.
