If there are any folks from Australia here, any tips or suggestions on purchasing Cuban cigars Down Under.

Specifically, the wife and I are planning a trip to Cairns soon. Thanks.

Hey GU. I just spend the last 3 months down there and let me tell you, it's easy. They hardly sell anything but ISOMs down there because they are freely available and in demand. Just go to any decent cigar shop in Cairns and you'll find 'em. From my experience, there isn't much of a problem with fakes, unless you buy in some of the open-air markets so I would avoid those.

Enjoy - I had Bolivars and R&Js the whole time I was down there.

gideon,

Thanks for the reply.

What were you doing for three months in Australia, aside from enjoying a great place to visit?

No, I won't go to the Cairns Night Market for my cigars, in fact I'll ask the nice folks at the Holiday Inn (if that's where we stay again) to point out a good place to look for my Cubans.
