from what I have been reading, France is becoming a bigger anti smoking nanny state than here, they actually have some pretty draconian laws on the books, but many people up to now are ignoring them. I have also read in Cigar Insider that France is a great place to buy Cubans now as they are pretty cheap there.

If you can be bothered, drive over the border into Spain where you shall be rewarded with the cheapest tobacco taxes in the 1st world. Feast your eyes on everything that is cuban...at prices the boys back home can only dream of. Take it form me it's worth the extra effort. Every other ciggs shop will have an array of Cubans your taste buds dream of. Take the risk...you won't get caught taking them home!

to minimize the risk, ask the tobacconist if he has some empty non Cuban boxes laying around, for most places do sell a few Dominicans or what not, then simply put the Cuban cigars in that, and you should be home free. When I had some cigars confiscated, the last time I had cigars mailed to me from my friend in the Netherlands, customs took the cigars out of the Cuban box, but two other boxes in the shipment they left alone. There were Cuban cigars in those boxes, but my friend put these in boxes that were of cigars made in the Netherlands.

Uncle Bill, Another suggestion (if you don't have time to go to Spain) is to order the cubans on-line once you get to Paris (if you need the URL, post a reply with your email and I will send it to you). I often buy from a company in Spain or guarantees two day Fed Ex delivery. The smokes are always genuine and fresh. The prices are approximately $20.00 over what they cost in Spain. Its a good deal!

Uncle Bill, Also if you do have the time.. to make it on into Spain.. I think your original question was Cigar Friendly Smoke area's? Childs is Right about the Prices in Spain they are the best for that area.. if you are not sure on the currancy exchange some places will try and shave you a bit..I am not quite sure what is avalable in Barcelona which will be closer to France border.. But if you have the time to travel down through Spain and get into Sevilla for a weekend??
they have a DA Campo Distillary there and also Great Bull Fights and you can Smoke anywhere your heart desires in the outdoors or indoors, also at the little eateries off the streets..(Nothing like having lunch and watching the Latin culture walk past) "Man I Invey Ya"(got Room in ya Suit Case??) hehehe!!! Also another place to journey would be Santa Maria.. nice fishing port community, Great Harley Shop, cheap $$ Cigars and Wineries...If you couldn't Tell I'd Love to Live in Spain... But Main thing if you make it try and Catch a Bull Fight...Hope you and yours has a Great Trip and I think us at the Club will be waiting on Some Pic's of your travels LOL Oh and Yes Canary Islands themselves psssssttt you make it there look for the aged Cigars LOLOLOL
