I will only say One thing about this after reading through it I did see an area that was called Accountability towards the bottom.. My Only staement or comment is since when is or does the Goverment ever account for any thing.?? They have and always will do what they want NO matter what the Public says as far as spending goes and that includes The questionable awarding of contracts to companies that they have had deals with (real or on paper) actual or setting waiting for them in the wings to take part in Once they are out of office..Goverment corruption is some thnig that will never go away and the sad part is Now they know NO one can stop them and that NO one will try. Because it all falls on deaf ears...JMHO..TinMan

Hog,
I gotta hand it to ya. You are a true American.
Pointed out GWB's real economic plan, had nothing to do with the taxcuts, but with starting a perpetual War. The real reason that we are over there. Our economy can be always fired up by going to war. The Equiptment sales to the military alone, could help the economy. But to have a country, to build, at the same time we are still fighting the war. Oh boy, we get to rebuild it twice. Make sure bush and Companies friends get the nobid contracts. No Wonder Bush Is Setting Records For Fundraising. Look at the payoff.
I'm still leaning toward Clark, even if he is a Dem. Beats the greedy little rich kid at the wheel now.

First:

Did you read the “Who we are” list?

The “Calls to Action” section

The “Stop killing Innocent Iraqi and Compensate the families” most are paid, and more than the families of GI KIA.

This site might as well be sponsored by Al-Jazeera.

Second the Linked article:

Whom would you have doing this work? Keep in mind most of those dollars are going to be paid to Iraqi firms that do the work.

As for the Democrats Vs the Republicans, when the article lists 58% to the Republicans, the Democrats received 48% and I’d bet all my cigars they didn’t send the money back.

Same thing with companies, Halliburton, much owned by Lady Bird Johnson, built port facilities and infrastructure in Vietnam… while we were fighting the Vietnam war.

As for accounting, the numbers listed in the article do provide some level of accountability.

Gene - to clarify, if the reps get 58% then the dems get 42%, not 48%..

Also, Haliburton gives 95% to reps, wonder why the're among the big winners in the nobid contracts...

Dough! 42% it is, I was a little quick on the reply, thanks for the correction.

If Halliburton wasn’t the right company, name a better choice. Name a US firm with the experience and the ability to get the job done. The people I talk to in Iraq say the (Knudsen-Brown & Root, parent company Halliburton) KBR folks are doing a great job.

BTW, the “Lady Bird Johnson” I refer to was the wife of President Lyndon Baines Johnson (D).

IMHO, fussing about who got contracts in Iraq is a fool’s errand. The best were selected and hired, it’s the fact that the Democrats can’t get any real traction against GW with the majority of Americans that has them going around to make mountains out of molehills. Would you prefer the French Bouygues Group be awarded the job?

It should have been bid out, that's the problem. Having no-bid contracts reeks of cronyism.
