Combined, the two teams have 180 years of frustration and waiting 'til next year ... a dream Series matchup of the two most cursed teams in baseball would end one nightmare, but add immeasurably to the other ... talk about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat!!

But what an incredible classic it would be !!

GO CUBBIES and GO SOX

It would mean the end of baseball. A meteorite will hit the stadium or somethe catastrophic would happen so there would there would be no winner of the series.

Exactly ... World War I wouldn't end for another month, Woodrow Wilson was President and they beat the Cubs riding the strong left arm of their star pitcher, thought by many at the time to be the best left hander to have ever lived ... a 24 year old kid named Babe Ruth ...

The Cubs last Series win came one year after their first win ... Teddy Roosevelt was still President and it was the year that Ford introduced their revolutionary new Model T ... 1908

Yeah, it would. I'd watch it. I hate watching baseball on tv too. I'd rather watching bowling than baseball. I'd rather watch commercials than baseball. I'd rather have my eyelids super glued open and forced to watch Barney episodes than baseball, but I'd watch a series with these 2 teams. Why? Because it would mean so much for both of them. They'd both be putting it all out there for a win.

It would be good for baseball.

With that said...they'll prolly both be eliminated. Shudda never traded Ruth!

DMV, whaaaat?

"I'd rather watching bowling than baseball. I'd rather watch commercials than baseball."
I find that statement a little off the wall, you're crazy.LOL
I admit that todays baseball/politics are a turnoff. The players of today, not all but a lot of them, and the people in charge are more interested in the revenue and not the game. A shame if you ask me, but times like this, on the 100th year aniversary, with teams like the Cubs and Red Sox, well that makes me remember what baseball is all about. It would be a great game, but I will say, history would repeat itself and the poor ol' Cubs would LOOOOSE, LOL

RED SOX RULE!!!!

Oh yeah, one minor bump before all this can happen, those pesky folks at Brooklin, them Yankees are not a problem!!! (gassping, sweat poring) Go SOX!!!

LMAO!

My problem with watching baseball is the TV. I love to go to the parks and watch the games. Little League, HS, College, Semi, Pro...its all good.

The camera angles are all messed up and you don't get the real deal. You'd think that with all of the high tech stuff out there that they'd bring it to baseball. It been the same stuff since the 70's! That was my point.

I've long thought the REAL problem with baseball on TV is that it doesn't fit on the screen ... they've never figured out the way to show everything that goes on and as a result, two of generations of TV babies have no idea why baseball was, in fact, the national pastime ... football fits, basketball fits, and even hockey fits ... baseball is too big for the screen

NOTHING beats sitting at a ballgame with a cool one in one hand and a cigar in the other ... that's now only possible at one place in professional baseball, but it's still possible at other levels of the game ... if you've not done that, you've never even SEEN baseball

(I'm thread-jacking my own thread for a moment)
Doc, you get out this way next spring or summer, and come with me to one of my son's games ... he plays in an adult league (baseball, not softball) and they play on hs and college fields all around the area plus one really sweet minor league park ... you bring yourself, I'll bring the lawn chairs, a cooler full of cool ones and a humi full of smokes ... it'll be great ...

Hey steve, I'll be there no problem, however I don't know why you keep calling me doc!!LOL

I agree with the whole baseball on TV thing, I was just pulling DMV's leg!LOL

One thing I have noticed is the price on seating and refreshments at a ball game, they keep climbing and climbing, heck last time I took my daughter to a ball game we spent $250, included 2 seats (not the greatest, but not nosebleeds)parking, 3 sodas, 3 hotdogs, some candy, and I could't smoke a cigar!! I wonly wish it were cheaper, oh and also I wish the Red Sox moved to LA. LOL (okay that was a bad joke! I would never do that to the Red Sox!!)

I'm positve the world series will be played between the Yankees and the Marlins there is no doubt whatsoever......................but ahem there was also no doubt that the Bucs were going to stomp the Colts last night. LOL JonR

Re; JonR's statement that "there was also no doubt that the Bucs were going to stomp the Colts last night" ... that was exactly my thought when I turned the MNF game on following the baseball game ... it was right at the start of the fourth quarter and MrsS and I quickly agreed, the Colt's had been stomped ... she went next door for a few minutes and when she got back couldn't believe her eyes ... What HAPPENED? ...

With the Twins and Braves gone, I'm OK with any matchup, but man ... what's not to like in a Cubs/Sox Series? ... THAT's a matchup for the ages

I'm of the opinion that the Sox and Cubs are at a disadvantage because their series went 5 games and won't be able to go with their starting rotation. X

Have been thinking of this scenario all day...what a series it would be...

As for baseball on tv...not a fan of it...and i am a huge fan of baseball...go to high-school games...always catch a couple of the local Double A games...but baseball was not meant to be watched on TV...

My brother said (about 3 years ago) that if the Cubbies win the world series, he's gonna get married. I'll bet there's a side to him that hope the Cubs don't win now :)
