This from MSNBC.comhttp://www.msnbc.com/news/980954.asp?0cl=cR

It is an excerpt from the washington post and the headline is "Many Troops in Iraq Dissatisfied"
From that heading, you'd think "Most" of the troops were unhappy.
But if you actually read the article, 64% are satisfied with the situation.

Given that fact that they are away from their families for months at a time, eat lousy food, and are under gun fire every day and night, I find that number to be amazingly HIGH in satisfaction.

The Bush Adminstration is right: The Liberal Media is taking the Negative approach to "reporting" and they should be ashamed.

The press in this country are anything but fair and unbiased in their reporting ... it's long been my observation that they do all they can to tilt opinion toward the liberal point of view. The headline you cite is a good example.

In Sandy Eggo the local rag is conservative and slants most stories to the conservative point of view. I have to read the Union along with the LA Times to get a better view point. X

So the other 36% of the troops don't matter?

Typical liberal, Chris.

Ignore the facts and mislead.

Nobody said they don't matter. But the headline implies that a majority are somehow dissatisfied.

Truth be told, I'd be dissatisfied being away from my family under those conditions. But the headline makes it sound like there is dissention, and that recent Administration reports about high spirits is a cover up.

Next time I'll use small words for the liberals

TG- Was that last line ("Next time I'll use small words for the liberals") necessary? I think these are the kind of comments that start taking a valid debate in the direction of personal attacks. While it may be a small shot, it is the kind of shot that starts taking a discussion down the wrong path. Just my .02

Why is it that, in this country, the majority always has to cater to the minority? Shouldnt it be the other way around at times(like most of the time)?

Only if you cling to the notion that the "majority rules" ...

Things are actually decided by the most visible and vocal among us, even when they constitute a minority ... ergo, the advantage accorded the liberals by our leftist dominated press

TG - I didn't dipute the fact that the majority are satisfied, I simply asked about the unsatisfied. The headline is missleading, that's not debateable.

I love how you got a little liberal attack in though, hopefully you feel better because of it. Actually, I'm sure you had a little snicker when you wrote it...
