Don't know about the airlines. Call a local travel agent. Trust me you can get it cheaper than online. Or on the phone with the airline. When I needed to go to CA in a hurry. The travel agent got me round trip tickets on two day notice for 600 from Cincinnati. The have tickets they have to sell. Plus they may get your business in the future. The airlines would not drop below 1650 on short notice.

Stay at the Red Roof Inn. It is right outside the gate so to speek. 1/4 mile or so.

By the way, rent a car at the airport. Let the travel agent do it. It is a 45 min ride to Great Lake. The taxi fare will kill you.

I'd go to http://www.iflyswa.com

depending on the timing of your trip, it is quite possible that you can get a seat at a much lower cost on their Internet special that by ANY other means ...

ATA flies direct into Chicago Midway airport from DFW. It's about 25 miles from Ohare. May get a better deal than flying into Ohare.
