My thoughts and prayers go out to those of you CBer's in San Diego that may be affected by the firestorm. If you need a hand, don't hesitate to ask!

Been doing IVs and ACLS for six years now, but I still remember how to handle the knob. Just remember to stay low when it starts to bank down.

It is so eerie outside this am. It's so quiet and the sky is pitch black. The ambient light is orange,so it casts an orange glow to everything. Everything is covered in ash. The sun looks like a red ball thru the smoke. All schools are closed so I have a full house. It'll be a miracle if we don't kill each other before the end of the day. X

x,

You're good to go in IB right? Up here in Mira Mesa it looks safe. The air quality (what a misnomer) sucks. Stay safe and good luck!

It's really gray here in Rancho Penasquitos, but no imminent threat of a burn. In fact, it's so awful outside, that my wife wouldn't even notice if I lit up a cigar.

Anyway, to those in the area, stay safe. It's still pretty ugly.

I lived in Scripps Ranch, San Diego for seven years back in the 1990s. It looks like 350 homes are destroyed in the old neighborhood. My old street got missed by about a half mile but it still leaves an eirie feeling. A lot of good people there facing a horrible tragedy.

Hey, I'm back...

I am glad to hear that my fellow SoCal cbidders are okay...let's just hope that we can stay that way!

If any of you feel the urge to help, you can go to this link that is directly from www.sdarc.org (San Diego Red Cross):

http://www.kintera.org/site/pp.asp?cid={CB8D8928-0A24-4AED-8B07-E38E6BC390D2}&bin_id={DC885725-E7F5-4BF5-A44A-582B2712085A}

Any contribution will go to help San Diego and Imperial Counties wild fires...you could also look up the other counties involved at Red Cross' website. JUST BE SURE TO SPECIFY THE SAN DIEGO WILD FIRES!

Unfortunately, I know a family in Scripps Ranch that has lost everything, burnt to the ground. Also, I still can't get in touch with a family in Crest...I fear the worst for them.

We have several homes throughout SD Co., and none of them are in danger as of yet, thank God! But, as devestating as a property loss from fire would be...it's the human life that is of most value.

My heart and prays go out to the families and friends of the victims that lost their lives in these fires.

Today, Wednesday, schools are still closed here. The smoke isn't as bad today due to a change in wind. But, everything is covered in ash and the sky is still eerie...I've just kept the doors and windows shut with the A/C on and stay inside as much as possible.

Marla, I am so glad to hear you are ok. I'd say welcome home but it does not seem to be much of a homecoming. See ya soon.

My dad lives down there, but he's west of the fires.

Since this happens every year, why don't they train the Reserves and the National Guard to do firefighting?

Spring Valley is safe and untouched. The smoke cleared up a bit today.

We have a mixed bag of weather today: some snow in Big Bear, some rain on the coast and maybe more headed our way. But firse seem to still be going. All you affected hang in there we are still thinking good thoughts for you. San Diego lost a firefighter today the toll could be the highest ever I think the news said for lives lost. God Bless them
