Just saw on Fox News that the Burbank Airport has changed it's name to Bob Hope Airport, in honor of this great American. They said Hope used to park his plane there back when he did the USO shows for the troops.

A nice touch to name the Burbank Airport after the great Bob Hope!

About time they honored a real American. Compared to John Wayne, Bob Hope was the real deal.

In 1942 Bob Hope was 39 and already had started his USO tours and bond drives. He gave the US everything he could for over 50 years.

In 1942 Clark Gable was 41 and in the Army.

In 1942 Jimmy Stewart was 34 and in the Army.

In 1942 Glenn Miller was 37 and in the Army.

In 1942 Wayne was 35 but you never saw him in uniform, never saw him on a USO tour, never saw him on a bond drive.

finally i hear from some one who recognizes john wayne for the hero he wasn't.

**** will soon fly at you and maybe i can direct some of it to me.

wayne was an inconsequential, hack actor, no better or worse then gene autry and roy rogers. for some reason he was given a medal for service to his country.

he performed no service.
