OK. Oh Mighty Herfers, here's a 2-part question for you. One of the parts of Cigar smoking that I really enjoy is cutting off that 1/8th of an inch that if done incorrectly can make all the difference in the world whether the cigar will smoke like a dream or way too hot. That's the CUTTER. 1.) What kind of cutter is your favorite and why? 2.) Do you have one that's been around for awhile that you won't give up, maybe for sentimental reasons? I've been looking at the Xikar and a very nice v-notch that looks nice. I already have about 6 pair of cutters, and I just LOVE the damm things. Can't make up my mind......Brent

I use a Xikar2 that works like a dream. I've tried the V cutters and have mixed feelings. Nothing like a nice clean double blade cut to start the ball rolling.

sorry about the previous to nothings.
i don't know much about bullets, but i bought a case of 20 shell casings in a plastic case from what looks like 44 guage for about $4.00. the casings are 2" long and about 7/16's in diameter. sharpen the edges on a sander or dremel. these make a nice hole in the end and keep the cap on.

I bought a Xikar about five months ago and loved it...Unfortunately, I lost it about two weeks ago while at work and have returned to using those plastic disposable cutters (specifically the double guillotine)...No comparison whatsoever...I miss my Xikar dammit!...LOL

I must admit ... I love my Xikar (special occasions), and my Highland gun-metal double-blade cutter with brass rivets (everyday use). But my favorite is a bullet cutter ... I just love the way it punches a perfect hole in the cap, and leaves the cap intact. Of course, it works best on the larger ring sized cigars.

I have used several cutters and like the Xikar the best! Hands down, it give a great cut. I have several, one for carry, one at work, one at home. A small detail, it stays closed in your pocket.

I have cheap cutters, have expencive cutters, have sissors, have bullets, I have never used any of them sence I got my first Xikar. I need to get a spare before I end up like Rookie139. (I feel for you) I do want to get the Xikar2. As you can see from all the post here, you can't go wrong with Xikar.
