D.E.I. this could be the year for Jr !!! hate to see no more "winston" in "winston cup" , but it will alway's be there and reffered to as nascar winston cup racing in my book !!! i'd love to see Mark Martin win it All ! He's a good guy ! wish they'd put him back in the Valvoline Car !! Gordon ???/ GAY ! seen his new hair-do !! buzz cut ! looks queer as a 6 dollar bill ( twice a squeer as a 3 dollar bill ) !
Thoughts about........Nextel ?

Favorite ride....driver(s) ?

The new point system is crap. 26 races to see who's in the top ten, (or close by 400 pts) and then a 10 race shootout.

So if a guy pulls ahead with a great 26 races, he's penalized by being brought even with the back 9 + drivers.
Or, say Dale jr. is 12th, 400 points out. Spencer is 13th 401 points out. Spencer is just as consistant as Dale, but he's screwed. Also, the final 10 races are all speedways. No roadcourses, or short tracks.

I think the current, soon to be past, point system is fine, it just needs to add more points for winning a race.

Look ma, dem cars go 'round a circle real good!

Ok, Ok, just kidding... I just prefer dirt track racing, more car fires, and you can't beat that for the money.

Your right on the money delarob, the current system which is now outdated was just fine. Did any of the drivers complain? Nope, it was all Mr. Helton. I think his Atkins diet has something to do with the change, heheheeee. The Championship is a year long race and it starts with the 500, and any driver that has a good year for the first 26 races shouldn't loose his lead in points. The new system will only hurt, and if they think it is going to bring in extra fans, they are wrong!!!

WOOHOO, racing is almost back!

Well Winston is gone, and it will be missed. Now can Nextel step up to the plate, only time will tell, but they have some big shoes to fill.

Lets go racin boys!!!

OK my driver(s), he is getting older, but I stick with Rusty as my No. 1 driver. Bobby is my second driver and my new driver has been Ryan (gotta go with the team mate, and he is good too).

See you at the track!!!

djheater .....dirt track's are cool ! i've grown up watching sprint's at our local track.....had one driver from here hit the bigtime on dirt ! Steve Kinser !! been watching him since..........well......... a long time ! and a few nascar drivers have graced our track in sprints....two past champions , gordon and stewart....that i remember anyway .
Yes , the new point system sucks , agree about more points for winning. and the direction of which the track selections going isn't good either !! some good tracks have been lost from the years past ! some of the original tracks they've stopped racing on should have been left in......but superspeedway's sell more tickets ! more tickets , more fans , more fan trailer sales of merchandise $$$$$$$$
The fan's are strong , but losing Dale Sr. took a lot ! i miss watching him, rooting him on ! bump-and run Dale ! the way they used to do it !! i started out as a kid watching cale yarburogh , donny allison , richard petty .....we'd watch it together , dad and i....but when i first saw earnhardt and started rooting for him....i had competition in the room with me ! from then on we'd have our drivers and watch the races together .... but complaining and trash-talking about the other's driver while we were doing it !! ye-ha ! but deep down i've liked many a driver !! swirvin irvine , whin'in wallace , allan kulwiki ( creator of the polish victory lap ) ,wild bill of course , texas terry , the king , the intimidator ....... from rookie to the end - my driver ! , mark martin good clean driver , micheal waltrip good kid !...and brother darryl good dancer in victory lane!and a true comedian on camera ! yes some good drivers ! and now a new breed of drivers to carry on......Dale Jr ..( family loyalty )i'm a fan... he's going to get a championship , just wish he could have gotten a winston for the whole father son accomplishment and another record for our fallen friend . i like ryan newman too !!! he is good ! and gonna get better !
well goota run for a bit , i'll check back in a bit.

nextel will give it a try but they will not be able to replace winston.

Dale Jr CHEVY , Mark Martin FORD .....the other drivers i like , micheal waltrip ,ryan newman......and there are some cars i like m&ms , hot wheels ( i think should come back )! just my opinion !! the camel joe car and the never run SONS OF THE CONFEDERATE ARMY car ( had a rebel flag on it and wasn't allowed to run ) #28 texaco -from davy allison , # 6 valvoline mark martin ( that's where he should be ! ) , and bill elliott should be in a mcdonalds car , they should retire the 3 and the 43 with the exception of , if kyle were to run it or dale jr or kerry were to run the black 3 ...but since goodwrench is richard childress's that won't happen !

i miss winston already ! i hate to see nascar lose momentum the great's had built it up to ! especially petty and earnhardt !! with the king sterting to build it up and the intimidator totally kicking it up and getting the fans in , it wouldn't be where it is today ! heroes and gods ? well..some argue...but in nascar winston cup history ??? YES !

*hopes no one throws rocks at me* LOL - but my fav driver is Jeff Gordon, but I also like Junior, Ward Burton, Bobby Labonte to name a few. I just like watching the races - I don't care who wins as long as it isn't Tony Stewart - *makes icky face* lol.

Can't wait till Daytona!!! As Darrell Waltrip would say "Let's Go Racing, BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY" :-)

Jeff Gordon is like Van Halen ......in the beginning "YES" but later on "NO"
he got to be too....too .....how can i say this tactfully without it sounding like a rock being thrown.........Prima donna ? too full of himself ?
i've only got a few of his ityems in my collection and it was all pre-pepsi.....it went down from there......choice of a new generation ! Coca-Cola items and that period of his career was his high-time ! just got Brook ( She was hot before she got with him) and he was setting high....but it soon went to his head.......

I can agree with that - but that can happen when you are riding high and winning all the time. Ego gets a major boost and before you know it you're having problems fitting through the door. I think being in a funk the past few years has brought him back down to the ground so to speak. EWWWWWWWWWW to Brook - never liked her yuck! I do like the fact the last few years have been people winning the championship that had never won before even if one of those people was *shudders* Tony Stewart LOL - it's nice to see new faces instead of the same ones always winning!

Will be interesting to see how this season goes with the new points standings and new sponsor.

hey...... i got a sporstcard of when brook was a "miss winston cup " girl !!! very hot !
That was part of watching the races when i was growing up....the winners got a kiss from "The Winston Cup Girls " and at 10 - 12 years old ....they were like playboy bunnies prancing around the winner !
they were hot !

It's more than a "funk" gordons in ! when the crew split....ya knew it was oly a matter of time ! look at brook......they say rat's jump ship before it goes down.

Ah yes , we've got alot of drivers to keep an eye on. as an old favorite i would love to see Mark Martin win a championship ! in my book he's alway's been one of the cleanest driving drivers on the track and a real pleasant person off-track (met him twice at indy several years apart ) .
Ryan newman will be one to watch....winning all those races , he can taste it now.....let's see if he can come back and do it again.
I gotta see Dale Jr or Micheal Waltrip win a championship........cause Darell will be right down there showing Micheal the winning victory jig .
more later.............
