Used to watch him as a toddler with my most favorite stuffed red and white kangaroo in the early 60s. My deepest sympathies for the old guy's friends and family.

HEADLINE: Gumby and Pokey Found Melted....

Just trying to bring a little levity to a bad situation.... No offence intended.
The Capt. was a little before my time. I do remember Fred Rodgers though.

That's a bummer. I remember the ping-pong balls and the train with the bowl of cereal.

had a the pleasure of meeting the Captain at a Barnes and Noble booksigning in Burlington VT during a 4 year job re-location to that state in 1997. He looked like he did on TV except there was no need for make-up. He was gracious with each person, but took extra time with all children (and children at heart)...I stood in line with my wife and two children and realized that i was getting misty eyed while watching this truely gentle man..feeling somewhat foolish, i looked around to see if anyone might have noticed, only to find that almost all of the adults of my age standing near me were also glassy and misty eyed as well. God bless Bob Keeshan.

I don't expect ajeroth or many others to get this: I remember Keeshan as Clarabelle the Clown.

Whoa he was Clarabelle the Colwn off of Howdy Doody?
I thought that was a different Guy? Or do I have the wrong clown? By the way Bob Keeshan was related to my wife. Something like a Great Great Uncle.... I really was just trying to lighten things up a bit.

That was him. I hear Princess Summerspringwinterfall (don't know if I got the order right) was a randy girl.

". . . Bob Smith and Howdy Do, say Howdy Do to you, Let's give a rousing cheer . . ."

Before there was Peanuts, there was The Peanut Gallery.
