So whats the deal with the matches from cbid? I have been buying here for about 4-5 months now and in my last shipment I received a box of matches for the first time. Is this a random thing? Is it after you have bought so much or what? Just curious.

no one on this board knows why matches show up in a package every so often.....

that's period, end of story, finished, asked and answered.

we just don't know.

dang just buy a lighter lol - lighters last longer than matches! :-) specially if you got the sweet ones like Clive and I have (lighters of his past n present ship on em) that all you need is flints and lighter fluid and you are good to go for awhile :-) even reg lighters are longer lasting than matches

bad form to use lighter fluid.

i have never used a zippo, but i have been informed by many, it leaves a bad taste on the cigar.

the word i heard is butane only.

you might start a thread butane or lighter fluid and see what response you get from the old timers.

hmmmmmm we haven't had that problem here - haven't heard Clive say anything - I'll ask about it when he gets home this afternoon and then start a thread :-) thanks!

we've not talked before and it is my nature to be a trouble maker, so

are you at home goofing off while your husband is hard at work, struggling against the world, doing any menial job he can find, and collecting cans at night,
so you can eat bon-bons, watch oprah, and post on these boards?

RICK, THATS A BUNCH OF HOGWASH!!

The Zippo bad taste is propaganda started by the butane lighter people. I use both, but mainly my Zippo. They only time you get an unpleasant taste is if you use it IMMEDIATELY after you fill it and only during the intial fire up of yer smoky treat. And its more the smell than the taste. Other wise nary an issue with taste or it RUINING a cigar.

Oh, I use matches to. Just to not jack the matches thread. And I got some in my last 2 c-bid shipments!
