Well I have been lurking here for about eight months and have just started to post recently, so I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Chris and I live in Washington State, the land of very high and prohibitive tobacco taxes. I am the Treasurer for a small lumber company; I am married and have two boys, 2-1/2 and 5-1/2. Besides cigars I enjoy home brewing, soccer, martial arts, and weight lifting. I live in a rural area so I have a large shop that had a canning room I turned into a smoking room. My neighbor comes over on Friday nights and we watch a flick and smoke cigars. That is the major herfing that I do. Well, this is the first time I have officially introduced myself to a forum group so “hello” and after lurking around everyone seems so kind that I felt I had to delurk.

Thanks,
Chris

Hiya,

I wish I had a convenient space to build a smoking room! I've been eyeing a relatively not full corner of the basement but it won't be for a while, in the meantime I'm stuck bundling up, hard to enjoy the smoke when you can't feel your lips.

Welcome castlewa,
My Whole House, is a smoking room. LOL But then there is noone else here to complain, except a friend, who lives in my spare room. And who is going to complain, with free rent. LOL Anyway, Welcome to the madhouse. You held out longer than I did. LOL I lasted all of 1 week, Lurking before I started posting.
Welcome again.
Later

It would be nice to be able to smoke in the house. My neighbor who comes over for the mini-herfs turned his underground cellar into a bar, that is where we have monthly card games with about 8 other guys most of whom don't smoke, but complain a lot.

If you save up enough matches you can redeem them for cigars at CBid's annual herf.

You get a book of matches for every $500.00 purchased, they keep a running tally for every account.

Welcome, CastleWa....
Its about time you introduced yourself. I'm DBguru from Kirkland, WA.

Mark your calendar, Tuesday, Feb 10th Seattle, McCormick & Schmicks Harborside on Lake Union, 4pm until whenever. Seattle Cbidders Monthly herf-a-thon. Bring cigars to trade and smoke. Check out our other threads. And welcome. Hope you can come and meet some of your fellow local cigar buddies on this board in person.

Until then...
DB

Welcome aboard from another tobacco tax frustrated Washingtonian. Ditto the comments from dbguru above.

Just a guess but do you hail from the Castle Rock area?

Here's a little light reading. 'course if you've had 8 months, you've probably ready everything there is to read here.

Turnberry,

Nope, my last name is Castle. I live up north near the border. Didn't think of the Castle Rock issue when I came up with a handle, but Castlewa has been my handle for about 8 years. Oh well.

We may be weekend neighbors then! I have a weekend golf getaway condo in Lynden on the Homestead course. Anywhere nearby?

Even smaller.......my parents have an 80 acre place on the North Fork Road. You probably know where that is, off the Mt. Baker Hwy on the Mosquito Lake Road and first left. Eagle observation heaven!

Turnberry,

Yes, even smaller I am closer to your parents than to your weekend getaway. 80 acres out there would be very nice. We have some beautiful country out here.

I love it there. Came very close to building a house there and combining 2-3 days of telecommuting with a couple of days of real commuting into Seattle.

Changing job responsibilities eliminated that option. My loss.

The matches are redeemable for cigars?? Great, I just received my first box of matches, and already traded them with an 18 girl who collects smiley face stuff for a pair of her panties.

Think they'll let me trade panties for cigars?

I did post here before I officially "delurked", but just a few times. I do post on a few other boards also.
