Any SIU brethern? Anyone? Any Salukis? Any at all? OK, for all of the outtastaters, Carbondale is in southern Illinois, just above where the Mississippi and Ohio rivers converge (like the Nile delta area in Egypt), in an area known as "Little Egypt", north of the town of Cairo (lovingly mispronounced cay-ro in southern Illinois), and where the largest "pyramid-like" structures were built (the Cahokia Indian burial mounds built by the Mississippian people). The train known as "The City of New Orleans" (made famous by Arlo Guthrie) used to stop there between Chicago and Mardi Gras. What a train! This is an area USAHOG would be very familiar with, as he's from that neck of the woods. A Saluki is a sleek Egyptian hunting dog (kinda like a greyhound) still bred today, but I think the "hunting" is about bred out of them (if they ever were truly hunters). I think they must have been more like "chasers" than hunters.
