I had the chance to see ruggy again. I thought I'd get him good with some tacos from a local bar that he likes. Well we go smoke in the backyard where he made me a new chair for my patio. Heather said it looks like he made chairs for the Three Bears. He made hers 1 inch shorter than the plans, mine was one inch longer and wider and his was just right. Once again they were great hosts.

#4 Figures. He was an ass who seemed to draw pleasure in provoking others. As I recall, his exit involved him saying some very cruel things to someone (not me, I quit reading his tripe). His wife was a hoot to read, but rugrunner never had a decent post here that I can recall. Good riddance.

pacman357:

Actually, his exit had to do with someone mentioning that maybe euthenasia would be good for one of his kids.

I read the post. I thought his response was remarkably restrained.

I also saw another individual there adding fuel to the fire, then later gloating about rugrunner's sudden departure. That person is no longer here either.

While I agree that rugrunner could be abrasive sometimes, so can I, and so do you. I tend to overlook these things, especially when people seem to be generally honest individuals - a trait that I think is far more important than saying the right thing.

A lot of people didn't like rugrunner, and some of them have a good reason for not liking him. That's cool, I understand that. However, it's been my experience - especially recently - that many of rugrunner's critics aren't exactly saints themselves.

And no, I'm not including you in any of this.

If you're interesetd in more details than what I can provide here (without getting this thread shut down), e-mail me.

#7 Actually the most mean=spirited stuff I saw from him was in emails behind the scenes. He was inexcusably malicious and vicious. Things not even a semi-decentr person would say. There was so much more leading up that, however. Really pathetic.

BTW, "so can I, and so do you"

1. Great grammar, asshat.

2. I'm sorry to hear about you. I, however, am universally loved, revered and respected. Really, you can even ask about me on other planets. In fact, I am so loved and admired, you might even call me

Legend.

^The fact that you kicked a man while he was down (banned and can't defend himself here) on a thread that was dedicated to him by a friend of his, would indicate that you, in fact, ARE the ass in this thread.

The prosecution rests your honor.

#10 Yeah, whatever.

1. This is but a thumbnail sketch of what I already said to him directly before he got banned.

2. The fact that he got banned had nothing to do with me. I made no request, I hold no power. I had long ago gone to ignoring every post, every thread, etc. that he posted. I told him I would do so and held to that.

3. The fact that he got banned speaks volumes about his behavior. I had absolutely nothing to do with it, and I have no reason to expect he reads this.

4. Those who are new don't know him, so it doesn't matter. Those of us FOGs already saw me say much stronger things directly to him.

5. What I saw in regards to the emails entailed him viciously attacking parents of a disabled child, mocking at least one parent. That you should complain of me attacking a seemingly defenseless person is the height of irony.

6. Rugrunner IS an ass. In libel and slander law, the truth is an absolute defense.

You have no case, "counselor". Your complaint is baseless and is rejected. Case dismissed, with prejudice.

No matter who you are or who you think you are, someone is gonna think you're an ass ..... so, one thing we all have in common!

I like Rugrunner and hope to have a smoke and a brew with him in the not too distant future.

This thread should not turn into a "who likes him vs. who doesn't' thread.

Thanks for the post Baron!

Some people expressed an opinion. Apparently it only became a crime when I expressed one to the contrary. Fair and Balanced, right?

I suggest we let it drop. I see little point to engaging in a giant flame war over someone who exists only in the past here. And I certainly don't wish to provoke MACS into getting banned again.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em. And if you don't got 'em, WTF not?

I never said I liked him. Never said I didn't either. I merely pointed out that you crapped on a thread for no apparent reason. That's it.

You came back with 'talking points', so I must have hit a nerve. As you said... whatever.

As far as getting me 'banned again' - don't flatter yourself.

Ok, not to continue the sh*tstorm here, let me just say this: pac if you have an issue with me, send me an e-mail, and we'll discuss this away from here.

Know this: if someone said the similar things directed your way, I'd defend you as well. I consider you a decent guy. We may not see eye-to-eye all the time, but I think - at heart - you're geniune and honest.

I think you're reading WAY too much into what I'm saying.

Yep Carpetjogger is most likely Rug under another handle.

A fellow poster here showed me what he wrote....He said some very very negative and sick things about another BOTL's children and for that, I have zero respect for him. Good riddance.

Hey,
While I wasn't his biggest fan, and we had some pretty rough things to say to one another, I think he is OK in my book. We have recently exchanged emails, and I saw him in a different light. I think he is a good guy, who can be an **** sometimes. But considering I am an **** alot of the time myself, I can't point any fingers. I hope whatever is happening in his life, it is a positive experience for him and his family.
