nice of you to mention this. most guys probably didn't know.

they are all free and are all priority boxes.

if you turn them inside out to use them as plain old shipping boxes, the post office will cut you off. the recognize the specific size and shape. however they do make great bxes for christmas gifts. there is even one there for shirts and sweaters and like clothing.

While you're at it, help out your local post office. They are only allowed to carry a few basic sizes nowadays. The public can order a whole bunch of other stuff off the USPS website that is not available at the local post office. Check with your local postmaster to see what they need, and order extra's of that. You can even tell the carrier not to bother delivering it, and just leave it at the post office. They'll then make those supplies available to the public in their lobby. Remember, it doesn't cost anything, and it helps out other customer's, as they have a better selection of shipping supplies to choose from when they come into the post office.

Rick,
First of all, how the hell do you turn a box inside out without destroying it?

Second, I know your and old retiree, but are you so tight for cash you need to resort to stealing from the usps to wrap your Xmas gifts? I don’t know about where you live, but here in Texas we have what’s called “dollar” stores where you can pick up an entire assortment of ten gift boxes for about a buck fifty. If your really stingy, like me, you can usually get three or four Christmas seasons out of each one.

Oh,
Now I get it. You’re a liberal. You expect the government to provide all of life’s little essentials for you…………..

Never mind.

it is great if you only have a couple of small packages , then you can just give them tyo the postman. but , if you have bigger packages that thier small truck will not carry ( with the mail and all that's in the truck already ) you can just drop it off at the post office....or for a "fee" of $12 you can have them picked up. or so it say's in the leaflet i got from the P.O.
beat's standing in that long line like i'm going to do tomorrow.....maybe early wed. won't have a long line !!! i has me fingers crossed !

Establish a repoire with the carrier, and they'll most likely stop by after the last delivery when the truck is empty. . . If it's not every single day, they probably won't squawk. . . 20 bucks at christmas goes a long way also. . .

Regarding the free supplies: I heard of a kid who got suspended from high school, because he was ordering the free Priority Mail tape, and then selling it for a dollar a roll to the kids on the hockey team. Seems they used it for taping pads on or something. I have to admire the kids' business skills.
