I personally don't mind posting sports related topics on the cigar board, but for all those whiney souls out there whose lips are tired from reading tobacco-free posts could we PLEASE get a Sports Forum? I realize that there are other forums on the internet for such things, but I happen to like the group that congregates at this site. Yes, even those that are somehow offended at subject matter that doesn't fall into tightly defined categories. In the mean time, I sure am enjoying this Sinatra My Way...

I am smoking a Don Lino Colorado while reading the Hey Gonz thread and have requested a sports related board on several occassions with no reply or answer! It would give us sports junkies something else to rail on and in the meantime I see Red Sox got three runs for Pedro Martinez in first against Tampa Bay........good nite! Charlie

What's wrong with posting your sports babble on the Political Board? That seems to be the room here that is not cigar related. Just a thought ...

Not a bad thought, Slim, but the cigar board seems to get much more traffic. Many folk shy away from politics. Especially all of the shallow minded wussy Democrats that were blinded by Clinton for 8 years! They run and hide from anything political because they realize their errors but are too spineless to admit them. They are still in a Bubba Trance for crying out loud. they pay the scum-sucking low life $100,000 to speak to them about morality. You might as well listen to Timothy McVeigh speak about compassion! It's truly ridiculous, and they cower and hide from any semblance of intelligent exchanges regarding political views...But I digress... Anyway, why does it bother you so much when sports end up on this board? I think cigars are more closely related to sports than politics are. In fact, my first premium (you always remember your first) was at a football tailgate party. Sports. Cigars. It's a natural. At least until Gonz answers our cry.

There USED to be a Sports Board but it was basically removed due to inactivity. Besides, what the hell does a BoSox fan know about sports anyway?? ;)

To CHARLIE: Those DL Colorado, are they any good? I have some sitting, but have never smoked one.

To GONZ: What happened to the rating board/- system that was debated a lot some time back?

Hansen, yes the Don Lino Colorado with Dark Connecticut
wrapper delivers a pretty spicy and more of medium level strength taste! I think they are well made and attractive and have a pretty darn good draw! Now someone will stomp on that opinion, but I have always liked them. Pretty good shot about a Red Sox fan, but they are among the most devout of all sports fans and a crowd at Fenway during a night game is a beautiful sight to any baseball fan! I hate to see the place go! That only leaves Wrigley field representing the good old days of the grand sport! Charlie

I used to be 100% against a "new" Fenway Park. Until I went to Jacobs Field in Cleveland. New Ballparks can indeed have character which is what baseball is all about. 81 home games are played each season, and the place needs to feel like home for the sport to be enjoyable. This ain't football. I need to hear the crisp smack of the ball hitting the catcher's mitt while I overpay for stale peanuts.

I'm willing to try again. The Sports board is up. I'll give you guys a few weeks to test the waters on the new board. If it gets stale again, I'll have to pull it down.

The rating system is still on the radar screen and I haven't forgotten about it. I know it will be a huge addition to the site, but the complexity grew to astronomical proportion. Also, we are in the process of moving CigarBid to some new firepower servers. This process has taken up every ounce of manpower we have. We plan to go live in 2 weeks.
