FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year. Nixon usually gets credit for Vietnam. He is the one who got us out.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama did attack us.

In the two years since Osama's terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaeda, put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.

Actually if you want to look at the statistics, you have to consider what the military is today compared to what the military was in your last example of Viet Nam.

Who was president is really irrelevant.

Point #1: Today’s military is an ALL VOLENTEER force.

Point #2: Today’s military forces are more highly trained than ever before.

Point #3: Today’s military forces have greater technology at their disposal than ever before.

Point #4: Today’s Military forces are more highly educated than the military of Vietnam. It is made up of an enlisted force that consists of 100% high school graduates (with many like myself holding degrees higher than that). It is made up of an officer force that embodies people that hold at least a BS degree, or higher. (in Viet Nam during desperate times non-High school graduates who were a little quick on there feet could make field promotions to as high as the rank of Major)

In short, today’s U.S. military is more educated, motivated, dedicated, and more determined to KICK-ASS over any other force that has existed on the face of the earth at the present or at any other time in the past.

HOO-****-RAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Navy? Well I’ve hitched a ride with you boy’s once or twice in the last 20 years.

If you have to sail the seas, best do it with the guys in bell-bottoms…..
(you still wear those don’t you?)

All kidding aside, I have a lot of pride in my branch of the service (USAF) but we all get the job done and none of us could exist without he other..

Bottom line, we all KICK ASS!!

The U.S. Military as a whole is a force to be reckoned with.

Come by my house and “recon” with me some time!

I’ll show you what an “old” worn out E-7 can do……

( I may be half crippled but I can still kick YOUR ass….)
