I smoked one of the La Luna Af, baunta, the other day; and found it to be an OK cigar. It was well made; had a decent draw, a little loose; and burnt well. It was very spicy with a hint of ceader. The strong flavor, almost harsh, over shadowed the camaroon wrapper. I plan to let the other sit for some time and try again. This cigar has the potential to be a very good powerhouse smoke! Any other thoughts?

I won a 5-pack of the Perfecto #5's a many weeks ago, and at first wasn't too impressed with it. I let the other four sit in my humidor, and decided to have one on the way to work this morning. Wow ... had it changed. It was very tasty ... I liked it a lot. The burn was perfect, the construction was a very tight, perfectly wrapped cigar with an oily sheen to the wrapper, and the draw was very easy with lot's of smoke. It was so firm that it felt good to hold in my teeth, and and was an excellent smoke, IMHO. The more they age, the better they will get. Remember, they like to be kept lower than 70% humidity, according to Gael (I think he said around 65%) because of the thicker maduro wrapper. I think La Luna has a winner here ...

Did Gael say to keep the Cameroon below 70% as well? I know he said the MF needs lower humidiy, but I'm not sure if he said the AF does. I don't feel like re-reading that thread since it has about 400 ass-kissing posts, so if anybody can remember for me that would be great.

Tailgater, LOL!

The African Fuertes need slightly more humidity than the Maduro Fuertes. I recommend a true 68% for the AFs because Cameroon wrapper needs a touch more humidity to enjoy the flavor.
