My son who will be four in April and I went out to dinner this evening with my mother who has lost 65lbs in the last six months on the Atkins diet. When our food arrived my son asked Grandma if she wanted to taste one of his fries to which she replied; “No thank you Grandma can’t eat those”. My son quickly and of course innocently asked; “Is that because you are fat grandma”? Well I have to say it has been many, many years since I pumped a beverage through my nose, but tonight was a two-napkin episode. The woman sitting behind us looking on dropped her fork got out of her seat and headed for the restroom in an attempt to hide her sheer delight at my son’s delivery of humor. My mother was in hysterics and it took a good 15-minutes for us to resume our meal.
