Major recording artists only, please.

Let's start with Dylan, then we can move on to Paul McCartney. His post Beatles recording make you yearn for Ringo, and I never thought that would happen..

We could then venture into our board favorite KISS and listen to "Beth". That is a GREAT song with Terrible singing, although it's obviously not the lead singer performing it.

Jerry Garcia. Died long before anybody knew he did.
Roger Waters. And Pink Floyd is one of my favorites.
Brian Johnson, although his pre AC/DC stuff is great if you can get it. The bands called Geordie, or something like that.
And I'm not sure about Ozzie, since he always uses that double-voice echo thingy.

I know my list is incomplete.

Brian Johnson nowadays is just embarassing. . . I didn't mind him 20 years ago, but his voice just deteriorated.

Any man who says Ozzy Osbourne has a bad voice, wears a dress.

Courtney Love, John Mayer, Gwen Stefani(No Doubt), Neil Diamond, Cher. I rest my case.

Wow, I'm stunned--that the same group that could come up with so many hits on the "Best" threads could be have their heads so far up their a$$es on the Worst Singers list! But wait--maybe it's the musicians that posted on the "Best" threads, and the non-musicians that posted on the "Worst singers" thread. Or maybe you guys are tired of the whole best/worst thing, and are posting contrarily out of boredom! Or maybe I shouldn't be playing with the computer after a 12-pack of Guinness Draght...

Seth, the only two I am aware of are Accept and Udo that he has sung for. If it's not one of those two, I'm stumped.

Charlie, When I went to Electronics Technician Class 'A' School, I had an instructor who used the name Barry Manilow, and the term 'Distortion' interchangably! LOL

El Duce was from the Mentors. They wore black hoods over their heads and sang such tender ballads as "find her, feel her, f**k her, forget her" and "I don't want your Herpes too".

Supposedly, Courtney Love tried to pay them to kill Kurt Cobain. Kurt ended up saving his lovie a few bucks tho. . .

Echick: Tracy Chapman??? Really??? I think she's incredibly talented, considering she doesn't try to hide (or have to hide) her voice behind amplification, writes politically and socially conscientious songs, and can sign acapella[sp] (which brings ever greater emotion to her lyrics).

I feel i have to object to Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks being put on this list of worst singers.....i'm a fan of both of them and they sound a hellofalot better than the likes of william shatner , leonard nemoy , rosan barr and joe cocker. and i've been a beatles fan sinc ei started listening to the magical mystery tour with my hippy next-door neighbors ( they were so cool ) and i like paul mccartney in alot he's done since...like with Wings ! Band on the run, Jett and others.
but i agree with most of the others listed here

Absolute agreement oon Yoko Ono topping the list.

I saw Brittney Spears in concerty last night in Fresno. Actually I worked at the concert. They road manager wanted us to escort her to her bus and out of town following the concert. I managed to be backstage for a good chunk of the concert. Reality is: she doesn't sing her own songs in concert. Her lip synching is off a lot of the time. She did actually sing 3-4 of ther own songs.

He voice really isn't that great and has to be heavily synthesized. I am sure that is reality for a lot of concerts nowadays.

I realize that I wasn't thinking of tracy chapman, but Macy Gray...

I am not into Tracy Chapman, but do agree that her vocal talent is there...Macy on the otherhand...
