thanks, guys. i appreciate that.

corpsman, sorry for jackin' your thread there. looks like you're the singular medicine man on board here. my best friend just got out of the navy -- she was a 2nd LtJG at the navy hospital down in mayport. had nothing but good things to say about the corpsmen she worked with.

hn, i hear ya. my friend was one of the good 'uns. she recognized all the corpsmen did and was quick to back them up and acknowledge that. she's always been a very gung-ho and hands-on type (wanted to be a flight nurse), and i think partly she envied the corpsmen getting to "get their hands dirty" while she did more administrative stuff (she hated that). heh.

she's a hottie, too, so i think that helped the hours pass a little easier. ;)

rd2thbn: hey, i made contact with that USMC BOTL who's deployed right now -- he and his boys are in a vile place of it, too.

actually, his wife got back to me and assured me that her husband had under his command "many young marines in desperate need of some 'love' from home."

you were looking for someone deployed overseas to write to and/or send care packages to -- please email me at BBELTRISI at ec.rr.com if you're still interested, and i'll get you this 1stSgt.'s mailing address.
