since today, er, yesterday was the equinox and all... what do you like best about spring, and how's it shaping up where you are?
here i wilmington, the grass is green and daffodils are up -- a few flowering bushes are blooming. i like the mild temps with LOW HUMIDITY outside and so far (thank you god) NO BUGS!
there's also a different sky full of stars to see, and the green anole lizards and blue skinks start to come out -- it's a hoot watching my dogs find one, freak out and try to catch 'em (they never do, though).

I live in a little town called Bristol. Its was founded in 1681. It has a lot of history. It is about 15 min northeast of Philly. We just got some snow but I hear starting next Thursday that we will be getting a steady climb into summer. My favorite thing to do is light up, open a bottle of vino, and sit in my rocking chair on the porch. We have a lot of neighbors so they are usually out at night on their porches. I could not imagine living in a place where houses were far apart or neighbors didnt know each other. I live on my street all my life so I have known most of my neighbors all my life. It does't hurt to have 6 houses on your street with family in them either.

I live on the Gulf Coast and cover a territory from Panama City to Gulfport. Last week I was driving along Old Hwy 98 in Destin and I'd have to say my favorite thing about spring is the visual affects of Spring Break. Of course, my least favorite thing about spring is spring break traffic.

What am I thinking? My little league time had our first practice of the season this afternoon. And that's one of my greatest joys in life. Helping kids and having fun in the process.
Of course there may be a few spring breakers that need help with ..... no..no..no!!! Jail bait! Jail bait!

There are lots of things I love about spring, but the thing I enjoy most (even as a kid) is the smell of the spring air. There is nothing better than those first few days of spring when you open the door, step outside, and smell the warm fresh air. Ya gotta love it.

Orange blossoms...Night blooming Jasmine...fresh cut grass on a baseball diamond...spring training...and knowing that Summer is right around the corner.
Did I mention Spring Break? Yeah that's the time of year that the migratory bare breasted collegiate chick-a-dee's roost and try to find a mate. Beer, suntan lotion and park passes are sure lures! Open season IF you DON'T have a license(marriage that is!), but you can see the "plummage" at the local beaches!

Bristol sounds nice but times they are a-changin'. Houses are closer together but neighbors are driftin' apart.
Spring is time for SOME of us in northern climes to don our Hawaiian shirts & emerge from our basements and garages for more open air smokes WITHOUT split wrappers.
Tony, you mentioned Wilmington. Ever been to the USS North Carolina?

cayman: gotta love detroit in the winter! oh -- and those salt stains? wipe 'em off your leather with a little vinegar and a soft cloth. totally gone. :)
blood: nay, my friend. the USS NC has 11 flights to it, and all are, of course, up and down by foot so i haven't been able to take the tour yet. every year in the spring all the w-ton tourist attractions have a weekend where all are open to residents for free -- i guess we're supposed to become local experts and chat up the tourists about them.
the 2 i want to do but can't physically are the USS NC tour and the "haunted wilmington" walking tour. :/
i did get to go on the horse and buggy tour, and next year my sights are set on cruising on the Henrietta II, and old mark twain era steamship that cruises the cape fear river and intercoastal waterway (atlantic coast).

I live in a desert valley in southern California. I have been using my central air conditioner for about a week now.
Dry climate, temperate weather. You can't beat it.
That being said - I hate California. But the weather is nice...

dude... i gotta get back to fishin'. me and my friends used to live on the lakes and ponds near my house year round when I was a kid. best time of my life... my son and I have been a few times, but not nearly enough. thinking about gettin' me a canoe... but if I took up fishing again, that'd cut into my herfin' fundage...
largest bigmouth bass I ever caught was 8 pounds and that is HUGE for Rhode Island.

I love the spring weather here on the west coast in Oregon! Last almost 2 weeks now have been very mild close to 70 most days, blue skies, fresh air. Smelling the freshly mown grass as I sit out back enjoying awesome cigars, feet kicked up, shorts on. And yeah...spring training means college football is still alive!
