My Nephew is in Iraq 1st MEF, his Wife of 3 yrs and his son's are in California, and his Mother (my sister) resides in Florida..his wife is a philpino (sp) so most her family do not live here in the USA.. anyways the closest family she has is my nephew's parents and her Brother also a Marine and was stationed in Iraq...

she called my sister last week and the first words out of her mouth was Cindy I have some Bad News....my Sister sank in her chair holding back the Tears... then she says No it's not Jake... he is OK.. my brother... he was shot in the chest in Iraq... they medivact him to Walter Reed in Washington... my sister said yes Joann I know all this from before and you said he was doing fine and that he would be released soon and heading back to Camp Pendleton... She say's yes he was on his way home after they released him from the hospital "Walter Reed" and while driving his car was in a wreck and he was killed last night...

my sister instantly was having chest pains... she went to the hospital and was checked out.. the next day she had broke out all over her body.. "shingles" she said this had hit her so close to Home she almost lost it all... Joann on the other hand had lost allot... her only brother who lived in the USA with her... and a Proud member of the United States Marine Corps who lost another one of their finest....

God Bless the United States Military Men and Women!!!!!
and Thank You for your Service!!!!!

god bless 'em all, and may those who have died and gone from this world in all its turmoil find well-earned peace and well-deserved rest in the next life.

JonR, the young mans name was Jonnel Ilog (Johnny) US Army, when I first heard the news it came from my Mother.. she had talked to my sister about this happening... Johnny had been shot in Iraq sometime after the War had ended and was at Walter Reed when my Nephew came home Also from Iraq.... he had requoped (sp) from the wound and was then transfered to Pendleton (to be closer to the family and continue his healing) from his regular Unit which has shipped back over to Iraq for a second tour... He did get to meet with his Sister and Jake in Florida while he was still at Walter Reed he and another GI drove down to Fla. and met with them before Jake was to ship back out...

I and my Mother assumed he was Marine because of where he was stationed last and wasn't sure... sorry all for the miss interpretation on the first print here...when I heard the news the first time it leveled me... Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine...It doesn't matter America lost another one of Their Finest.... he did servive the bullet to the chest his Body Armor saved him there... I have his Parents Address at which I first was told did not live in the States now I found out they do live in Cali.... I am building them a Flag Case and going to ship it out next week with a card..
I never got a chance to meet him... But I passed on all the warm wishes you all sent to my sister and will again on the Card I send his Family....

Thanks Again All
