How'd he sign it?

Thought they couldn't use their hands!

LMAO!

Sorry...but I only watch REAL football! NFL Football. If that sport you call football really was called that...it would be the MLF...but it isn't!

Try going in a bar during Autumn on a Sunday and asking the bartender to switch the channel so you can watch the game...what do you think they're gonna switch too? Won't be a bunch of guys running around the field in shorts that's for sure!

I am not a fan of the beautiful game, but soccer (football) does run through my veins. I have tried to enjoy American Football and just can't. I am stupefied by it; I was born and have lived in the US my entire life. Done the Super Bowql partys and those are ok. Maybe my kid will play football and I will acquire a taste for it. Anyway, I like boxing is that close?

While I am on a thread jack, I just purchased my shirt for the Celtic/Chelsea match at Seahawk Stadium coming up in July. I have found you either are fanatical about the sport or hate it. I know very few people in between. Funny though MANU comes to town and plays Celtic and Seahawk stadium sells out in 4 hours, 76000+ people, pretty amazing. Especially when it was a preseason training match for both teams.

Thread jack off:
Good place for some very nice video of Adu is at the Nike website. Cool tricks and what not. You will be seeing a lot of him this MLS season when he plays for DC United, if you can tolerate the MLS. I have heard about his play at the National Select Tournament a few years back where he played U-17 at the age of 13 and scored at will. AC Milan offered him $750,000 just to sign, but he wanted to live in the USA, this I am sure you already know, I just get a bit excited when it comes to soccer. Flame away fellas I am used to it.

Cheers,
Castlewa

Yep. 75000+ at Seahawk Stadium, and Beckham Wasn't even playing. Amazing

I am a football, and futbol freak.

If youv'e ever traveled from Italy to France, the same day as France vs. Italy during the World Cup....you would know why Futbol is the best sport on Earth, besides college basketball. I saw Italian grandmothers lying on the street crying the day that France beat Italy......but in France, 1000's of naked partyers dancing and chanting.

...Good for Adu. I hope he opens some American eyes to how great Soccer is. I can't wait to see him on TV.

this looks like a decent link for info about mister adu: http://www.online-shrine.com/freddy-adu/

i grew up in an italian-american neighborhood; latinos were in the next one over. we all grew up playing both "football" and "futbol" (soccor). every year the italian kids would play the latino kids -- but it was a HUGE thing for ADULTS. it's like they all reverted to 20 year olds and went nuts. heh.

Futbol Forever!

I will be watching Adu's first game, April 4!!!! I can't imagine a 14 year old playing against adults, but after watching Lebron, you have to believe they are getting better at a younger age.

If you have ever played competetive futbol, you would know its a great sport, very dificult to master and probably one of the most physically exhausting sport. If you have ever played basketball against a person who plays futbol, you will learn that their defense is so good due to their footwork. I can't wait for the next World Cup!!! 2 more years.

"Bombay Club" Rules!!!! (that was the name of my inter-city futbol team)

The US Soccer Federation would not allow a player to represent the USA without proper documentation. Adu has already represented the USA in international tournaments at the u-17 and u-20 levels. You can bet all the T's were crossed and the I's dotted.

This kid has adjusted to playing against players older and bigger than him at every level. I'm sure he will do the same now that he is a pro. Experts the world over have sung his praises. He is for real.

After seeing him in a few interviews, you can tell his mother has done a great job raising him. He is humble and always gives credit to his teamates.
