I said I would never go back to work, for my old Boss. This was said, after I was laid off, by phone, while I was getting ready to go to work. I just completed my first week back on the job, with a contract that requires a 30 day notice, and 90 days severance, on termination. It also provides for a healthy raise in pay, and a nice signing bonus.
I have been negotiating this contract, for several months now, and finally the contract was signed, Friday Morning. I have reassembled most of my staff, and we are back on the job. Unfortunately, I have lost a key member of my team, because of the layoff, but I am training a young lady to take his place, and she is working out nicely.
I don't know whether to be ashamed, for my lie, or to ba happy, to be gainfully employed again, but at least I can buy cigars again.

Man's gotta do what they gotta do.

Can you look at yourself in the mirror?

As long as you have the ability to provide for yourself and your loved ones. No job is a bad job.

You do what you think is right at the time. We will just consider it a 'little white lie'.

Don't beat yourself up about it. As my BOTL have said, you have to provide for yourself and your family. Besides, it sounds like your "boss" was giving in to YOUR demands. Must be nice to feel needed like that. If he didn't need you he wouldn't have agreed to your terms.

I could keel over tomorrow and the Navy would have my replacement in about 10 seconds.

I just finished my morning devotional, and have come to the conclusion that, you guys are right. She did give into my demands, and so the declaration I made, was null and void. Thanks for reaffirming the conclusion I have reached.

HB,sounds like the well oiled machine you created fell off the tracks once the oiler left. Your boss had the smarts to get the oiler back. WTG HB. X

WTG, DAVE!

sounds to me like a great deal all around -- you get what you want, you get most of your crew back, you're calling the shots, and you're getting the paycheck you wanted.

flush the old stuff, coz it's gone daddy gone.

do your thing, king, coz you're back in the ring.
go get the bling-bling and tie it on a string
whistle while you work? naaaaaw, go on and SING!

cha-CHIIIIIIING! :)

WTG Dave!

Sounds like a pretty good setup to me...

Man, I wish people were willing to meet my terms of employment. All I can seem to barter for is for unrestricted use of the company bathroom ;)

Corgragtulations, somehow I get the feeling if it was not worth it all you would not have agreed to it, you made your point you took care of buisness. Maybe the boss can and did grow for the better. It's not a lie, the situation changed and hopefully everyone learned and is better this time around!

Ok plus NOW you can buy some more smokes :) Rob

Hey Guys,
Thanks for your support and friendship. Looks Like I may be able to return some of those Bombs that rained on me over the last few months, of diminished cash flow.
I went to the pub, to celebrate. I think I may have had a little too much. The owner and his wife, had to bring me and my truck home. LOL I smoked 4 cigars today. Started out with a Padron 4000 maddie, love those Padrons, on the drive to the pub. Once there I had a Rueban Sandwich, Pint of Guinness, and a CAO Brazilia Samba, for dessert, with another Pint, of course. I left the pub, and went down the street, and picked up the ingrediants, for a couple of batches of stout, and some airlocks and other stuff, then back to the pub. They got in a few samplers of different beers, from their distributors, so I got to sit around with the owner, and drink alot of different beers. I had Beamish Stout, Fullers Porter, and Fullers ESB. Decided to visit the island, so I pulled out a Bolivar Tubo, that I got from poprocz, and smoked it with a glass of Corsendonk Brown Abbey Ale. Then I had a HUGE Dinner.
12oz Ribeye Steak, Rare, and a 6oz salmon filet, broiled in a lemon butter sauce, and a parmesian crust.
With Boiled Red Potatoes, smothered in garlic butter, and stirfried vegetables. I topped off the evening listening to a jazz band, and smoking an RyJ EL 2001 robusto. AWESOME SMOKE, paired with a Pint of Bass.
I was then poured into my truck and driven home. All in All, I think I did the right thing, in going back to work, at the resturant. At least I can go out and enjoy myself, without endangering my grocery money. LOL
