Hey I am getting more in to boxpasses and trades and things like that, and I really don't have an idea of which shipping companies are the best? Should I be using USPS, FedEx, UPS? Do you guys have any recommendations, warnings, horror stories etc? I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

I like UPS and USPS. I cant stand Fedex. They leave packages sitting in front of my apartment door regardless of the weather conditions. No shelter from the elements. Just sitting there.

Once my company shipped me a GSM phone to use on a business trip to Europe. For reasons unknown, they shipped me a second phone while I was away. The package required a signature upon receipt. Fedex just left the cellphone package sitting in front of my apartment. It had been sitting there for a week when I got home. I was furious.

I'm sure all Fedex places are not like mine, but I just had to vent. The cellphone story is just one of many that ticks me off about them.

Oh yeah, one more gripe. Comparing UPS v/s Fedex

Like most people, I work for a living and am not home to accept the package when it is delivered at noon. If, for some reason, Fedex decides to do their job correctly and not leave the package, they will put the delivery attempt sticker on my door. Same with UPS.

However, with UPS, I log on to their website and change the delivery method so that they hold it at their shipping center. That way they wont keep attempting to deliver it while I'm not home. I simply stop by the UPS center and pick up the package on my way home from work. The whole process takes 5 minutes on the website and I'm a happy camper. Despite repeated attempts, Fedex wont change the delivery method. They keep trying to deliver it while I'm at work and wont deliver it after 5:00 PM (even after repeated requests). They tell me that I need to specify the delivery method BEFORE shipping and cant change it while in transit. They wont hold the package for me either. Probably one of the reasons why they just leave the package sitting in front of my door.

Again, just venting. Wow, this is pretty therapeutic. heheheheeh

postal service is the one i use,
you can go online, order boxes, tape, stickers, and anything else you need. go to the priority mail shipping supplies, place an order. it is all FREE,
and they ship it to your door.you can also print your own shipping lables from them.
hope this helps.

I've always used USPS priority mail. Package gets there in 2-3 days. For a small additional price, you can add delivery confirmation. This gives you a tracking number and you can check online to make sure your package got delivered.

USPS priority mail is the way to go.

Funny that you guys complain about Fedex. I have had absolutely no problems with Fed and they have held packages for me at thier shipping center. Which is 10 minutes away. Tberry sent me a package that I missed before vacation and fedex took the change and immediately rerouted the package.

UPS on the other hand has been a pain in my ass. They just leave the package setting on my front porch. Does not matter if it is raining or snowing. And their shipping center is an hour drive away.

My box of Tributes could not be delivered by FEDEX...and my numurous attempts at their customer service just got me nowhere...eventually i had to drive 42 miles to New Mexico to get my package...and i live in El Paso...anyways...something always happens to me with FedEx...
